    When the new VNL came out the powertrains were revised. The turbocharger is fixed geometry now.

    Newer as in which year? The oldest Volvo I've ever been in was a 2011, a 670 model, and that one was quietly sexy too lol. I'm in the phased 760 model now. I'm intrigued by the new ones, but I think my company is going to shift to Freightliners because the 860 model is too heavy.

    Your Company is Correct !
    EMPTY STEER WEIGHT with a Deer Bumper = 12,300

    Up to 500 lb APU Exemption
    But even then you still lose being unable to fill BOTH Tanks, and the one Fuel Tank you have left 30 to 50 gallons Max before your at 12,500 lbs

    Screw-Up and fill both tanks and you're at 13,000 on your Steers !

    Either way prepare to be fueling like you're running a Regional Truck, not OTR !

    Best Bet, LEAVE THE DEER BUMPER OFF !

    That's what I tried to TELL the THIEVES at JSS LOGISTICS, but you know the Story, EVERYONE thinks that they KNOW MORE THAN THE DRIVER that has to DRIVE THE #### TRUCK !, IDIOTS.

    I told JSS LOGISTICS that my Wife and I were planning our Daughter's Quinceanera, and THEY STILL STOLE $5700 from me !

    STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM JSS LOGISTICS, JOLIET, IL

    They only CARE ABOUT THEMSELVES !

    I drove a 2017 Volvo and a now a 2015 Mack, those both have the VGT. I equate the sound to an overly restricted (which it is) exhaust. Like a potato in the tailpie vs the rumble of a Jacob's Brake. So I assume newer than that. Sexy isn't a word I'd use, but it's quiet enough for residential areas. What is a phased 760?

    To be fair, the average class A driver, is an uneducated idiot.

    Same in the construction industry, pays well, but youre paying for it with your body instead of your brain.
