Hi everyone,
I find myself manager of a fleet of a dozen straight trucks and drivers in a seasonal greenhouse business, and looking for a better understanding of the culture and issues related to all things truck driving.
My experience with operating trucks is limited to a 5 minute session with my dad driving an empty 12 speed manual 22' straight truck down a country road when I was 16 (which I thought was just about the coolest thing I'd ever done up to that point), and operating tow motor and tail lifts, so I'm about as green as they get!
Thanks in advance for your patienceand I'm sure I'll learn a lot here (already have!)

Thanks for the welcome guys. I realize us office jockeys are the butt of a lot of jokes, and some of us are real idiots that make your lives miserable. That's one of the reasons I'm here - I don't want to be one of them.
