Hello everyone!!!!
Im new the business. I just got my license thru the collin county dmv here in dallas. and will do my road test this week.
I dont want to go to school to get a job in this business but as i have come to know most companies ask you to go to school first. I dont think that i have to spend $3,000 to $6,000 in school right now that i dont have that kind of money.
What i can do??
Please let me know.
I have little verified experience around big rigs but I have been around them all my life. My dad use to work on a grave yard in Puerto Rico and I got all my experience there while I was young.
what are my options if any?????
thanks
Raul.
newbee here!!!!

Hello and Welcome

Have you checked with your local Employment Security Commission (ESC) offices, Career Source or Workforce centers?
If you are unemployed, under employed or are a displaced worker, you could qualify for funding to help you with a training program.
Best of Luck!!!!Baack and simplyred1962 Thank this. -

Hello, and welcome, Raul!!
Unfortunately, in these days of recession, more drivers, and less freight, it seems that it is now more important than ever to have at LEAST a minimum of CDL schooling and experience.
You, at least, seem to be one step ahead by already having your Class A CDL.
Check out the links that others here have provided, and good luck on your job search!!

I dont know what the Ag Industry is like in your part of the country, but you could try driving for an elevator or a harvesting company. Or get with a construction company and drive an End Dump, Belly Dump or a Sidumper.
