    Hello all,
Just curios about a couple Kenworth items. It seems I don’t ever remember seeing anything other than the regular round tank in the same diameter. (2’?) Do they offer a larger diameter to get more capacity in the same frame length? How about the “D” style tank? Or maybe the split tank like Freightliner?
Im just curious, it doesn’t appear there are many options for trying to keep the wheelbase short and still fit everything you need to!
    Thanks,
    Cordel 1

As far as I know, they're all one diameter round tanks. How much do you need that you're concerned about length? I have a 256" wheelbase with 150 gallon tanks and there's about 2' between the tanks and the drivers.

KW also offers a 28” diameter tank. Not commonly seen, but @Ruthless has them on his 900L.

    Kw 22.5” 24.5” 28” all round no D shaped
I may still have a screenshot of the size vs gallon chart
24.5” is like 2 gallons per inch of length roughly

Ruthless has it right unless we are talking about unusual stuff.

The new midrange trucks use a sort of square looking fuel tank these days.

Any reason you can't have something custom built to suit your needs?

I don’t know; When I ordered mine, I was only looking at L models. The options were the three that I suggested earlier. I suppose if you got a different model they might be more flexible with what options are available?

I was thinking something aftermarket if KW offered nothing suitable. There's got to be manufacturers or fab shops out there that could do a certified fuel tank built to suit a custom application.

Alumitank comes to mind. Ive bought tanks off them. Bet they’ll build whatever a man wants.

I only like flat glass L models
They only come with round tanks
/ other shapes would be like putting on pedestal lights imo

From what I recollect; t800 had a lot more options for ways to set them up in about every way. That ship has also sailed at this point. So I couldn’t tell you specifically if tanks in other shapes were a factory option on those models.
