UPS and FedEx will give you quotes for free. Although you'll have to be a lot more specific with them as well.
We cant tell if your wanting to ship pink elephants. Nuclear submarines or feminine products. NOBODY can help you until you post specifics.
What must I pay an O/O to get them to haul for me???

Nobody was "bashing " the post. It takes good info to give a reliable quote. Good truckers know there are many variables to hauling freight. You will learn.

Now wait just a #### minute!
Nobody has bashed you.
You were asked to provide a few specifics in order to get the information that you requested.
Successful O/O's aren't going to buy a pig in a poke.
You wanted to know what you would have to pay. It was very correctly pointed out to you, that you needed to provide more information regarding freight type and destinations. -
Hay Skippie
I shot you my standard rates
They only go up from there
Now can you guess what kind of freight I haul?
My answer was a hell of alot more detailed than your questionNative Dancer, walleye, Schmidtrock and 1 other person Thank this. -

Okey dokey .... let's take a different approach.....
Whatever they charge.
So..... as a "professional courtesy ..... do you maybe think that you could tell 'em WTF the product is and where it's going?
BTW.... if you really want your posts bashed, you're headed the right direction.

O.K. now I am not suggesting anything, but... from your info, it COULD sound like your wanting to move contraband. ya know kinda like your post. not going to say what I may put on ya, just what will you charge to deliver it, but cannot say what is is & cannot tell you destination, just a certain perhaps corridor that you may have to run. I will bet that is not the case. but afterr reading & watching the news over the years about contraband being moved & caught in big rig's & drivers arrested, it did raise a red flag. I am not trying to bash anyone.
have you ever looked at a load board? or talked to a dispatcher, broker? one example is, equip needed. open flatbed at least 48 ft. load of plastic pipe. 12 ft high 7 ft wide aprox 42,000 lbs needs to be tarped. load origin louisville ky. destination grand rapids MI. 425 loaded miles pays flat rate of 500.00 this is just an idea what a driver would need just to know if he/she was even interested so far. I myself would want to know more, but this would be something to go on. constructive criticism does not sound polite, but sometimes is necessary.dino6960 Thanks this. -
I apologize if my question is to "open". If there is a way to break it down by type of freight and equipment I'm willing to listen. Some examples would be helpful. I have called brokers, but you don't really get all the info from them. Afterall they want to make as much money from the load as possible. Thanks for the help guys.

...... and so does an o/o.
The general type of freight i.e. groceries? soap? exercise equipment? aircraft parts?
This applies to what type of trailer is needed - flatbed, van, refer ...... any special handling involved?
Household goods require a different type of insurance.
Is any of it Hazmat? Do you know for sure? You might be surprised at what is and isn't considered haz.
Weight of the freight. Some trucks can haul heavier loads than others (depends on the truck's MT weight)
Destination. Not only will you have to agree on a cost per mile but, you will have to agree on total milage too.
hope this helps........
