What’s your favorite truck stop?

Silver Spur was down in The Valley next to the Royal Freight yard. I heard the owner of Royal Freight owned the truck stop too. Its long gone now.

Off Santa Maria directly behind Walmart. That place was sketchy after dark, I haven't been in there in years.

 

10-4, thank you. I used to drive down to the Valley at night a lot and there's two places I'm thinking of that might have used to be the Silver Spur. One is a tire shop, and the other I think is a nightclub maybe.

 

I spent many a nights at the Silver Spur in the Valley. I usually would head to a hidey hole I had down McAllen, after the I stopped going to the Spur. Didn’t sleep well a few times at the old Laredo place, so I stopped going there. Way I understand it, is that not much has changed at all down there.
