I thought i was going to have mild irritation in my knee for the rest of my life. Four years ago I started a low carb diet and it helped with a lot of things including all my aches and pains. Then about six months ago i cut out fruits and vegetables, going to mostly meat and a little bit of dairy. What i had not really noticed was the pain in my knee was gone, not even a trace.

What reminded me of it was that at the end of last spring i had a big harvest on a fig tree in my yard. I was on the road so my wife froze them all for me to have later on. So I finally got around to eating them, but for some crazy reason I ate a lot of them all at once, maybe ten in all. That was a lot of sugar that hit me all at once, and over night my knee started throbbing again. I had completely forgotten i even had surgery until then. The contrast made it clear to me, sugar and carbs is what causes all of our aches and pains from inflammation. It did not last for too long, maybe a week or so, i cannot remember now.

All I eat on my truck is eggs, beef, bacon, and pork chops. I know everyone freaks out when I tell them i never eat fruits or vegetables, but I have been in great health this whole time. No medications or pills of any kind.

My road diet is about the exact same as yours, I do not completely cut out fruits and veggies from my diet but find them a lot harder to keep and find on the road, so they do not get eaten much.

Low sugar fruits such as berries are fine for a lot of people. I just have to go pretty extreme because of the injury I had to my knee back in my 20s. But when I do that, it feels like i never had to even go through the surgery.

I've had similar experience with joint pain, no surgeries thankfully, but when I cut out alcohol I had a significant decrease in joint pain. When I started cutting carbs I had a further reduction. My consumption of ibuprofen has reduced dramatically. Still a fat bas+@rd, but the weight is slowly coming off without even trying.
