Schedule your onboarding for ASAP. Take the earliest date they offer you if they give you multiple options on that. For seniority reasons putting it off a week or two or three there may be a half a dozen drivers (give or take) that end up ahead of you because of delaying it like that, otherwise you wouldve been ahead of them.

I’m still waiting for my background for Wal-Mart. It should be done this week. What if they give me a onboarding date and I can’t make it? I just got back to work and I’m on a 3weeks on/3weeks off schedule. I just can’t leave whenever I want.

They're super flexible. Whatever you need for your schedule transitioning into their job, working a notice at your old one or whatever, they'll accommodate you. If you need to finish out your 3 weeks that's fine.

Onboarding always starts on Mondays. I got an email asking what date I wanted to start that offered up the next several Mondays and I chose the soonest one.

I’m going to try and schedule onboarding during my off weeks. Not going to put a 2 weeks notice in until I pass onboarding. Don’t want to give my two weeks and not pass onboarding for whatever reason. Then I’ll be out of a job.

Yeah that's what a lot of drivers do. I actually had another job background checked, drug tested ready to start immediately the following Monday if I failed their onboarding. Thankfully I didn't but honestly the backup would've been a good job too I'm sure. It's always good to have a backup plan. They do send people home from onboarding for not doing things right. Climbing out of the cab like you're walking down a grand staircase will cost you a job here before it even starts lol

Exiting the cab “front first” twice during onboarding cost one of my classmates his opportunity. The second time, he was so excited about getting the backing done he bailed out the wrong way and was sent home.
