Hmmmm, interesting. have moved a few water tank trucks. Never was asked for a tank endorsement. Same with some of the spray rigs. Those may fall under the Ag exemption even though the tanks are over the 120 gallon limit.

It’s a simple matter of a dot guy not knowing you are required. They don’t know every rule in the book. Although some claim they do. It’s fine until you get the right one. Then it’s not fine.
the water truck will get by 9 out of 10 times. The empty tank trailer will not.IH Truck Guy, cke, Carpenter Scotty and 8 others Thank this. -
That tracks……

Most of what we do is farm and ranch. Might be getting by on the Ag equipment exemption.cke, Feedman, sawmill and 1 other person Thank this.

Even then, a lot of it is up to the individual states. I recently looked into whether or not the ranch needed to have hazmat endorsements or hazmat shipping papers for a fuel truck that they bought. The states are allowed to decide whether or not they will require that even for exempt operations like agriculture.
In some states, the tank endorsement and hazmat requirements are exempt, but only for specific purposes. Like refueling aircraft used for crop spraying then you look at other states where that's not common like out here and it would be more common to need fuel for equipment and it's not really clear at all. So then it seems like it's up to the discretion of whatever officer happens to be looking at youcke, Tug Toy, exhausted379 and 4 others Thank this. -

Think injector is stuck open. Put a metric #### ton of smoke out the stacks and got a fuel knock.. i guess thats what i get for not changing them
-
I feel for ya! I had an injector blow the tip off 4+/- Years ago, blew a motor smooth up, only had 6600 miles on an overhaul. ISX injectors are fierce expensive too. And it’s super hard to know when to start and stop when an engine is open
