Okay, it's cool, you control your own destiny, and I hope you do well. Not sure about the 2 companies, Chinatown is the person for that, Western, or all the "lesser" companies get a bad rap, but I think they are okay, they haul a lot of freight. Be advised, you may or may not make what the recruiter claims, maybe $50gs/year, not the $100K they promised, but steer the course, and you might do okay. And for the record, with legalization, a LOT of drivers still use pot, and eventually the feds will have to come up with a "how long after use" gizmo, because you know as well as I do, effects from smoking don't last a month. Keep us posted, hey? I think you'll be fine.

They already have come up with it, it is a saliva swab test, at one time it was an approved testing method, THC leaves your saliva within 12 hours, they don't want to pay for the testing kits for everyone so they shelved it.

Yes, I would still say the same about alcohol, even more so, since it is legal and not a controlled substance, like marijuana is. People do quit, you're right. And people also relapse, and I know about that, and I'm sure several of my fellow drivers know about that...in fact one recent multi-fatality crash was because of alcohol, so yes. I suspect everyone here would say the same. He said he quit in December, it's now February. 60 days is nothing to an addict trying to quit. The problem occurs the longer the body is away from the substance, and the mind starts to relax .....and allows itself to think itself normal...that's when a relapse occurs. Not in the initial quitting period when someone is white knuckling it from the withdrawl. It's when they think they've licked the problem.....that it becomes the real problem. Yes....speaking from experience of that particular poison, so yes....vehemently yes, I would say the same when it comes to alcohol.

I read, people that smoke or smoked MJ and quit, have an 87% relapse rate. I personally too, have seen the damage alcohol has done, and never have seen that with pot, serious drugs, yes, but pot has been hailed as a "healing" asset, nothing good comes from alcohol.

Pot is not addictive like alcohol and other drugs are so the temptation isn't the same. It's much easier to not smoke weed again, unlike actually being addicted to something. Whether to smoke or not is essentially a choice.

I quit cold turkey many moons ago. Never looked back, Oh wait, just remembered, I fell off the wagon a few years back, right after a random, and tried it for medical purposes(seriously) than I realized right away why I quit. The paranoia was enough. o_O

I quit probably 30 years ago. I flunked a pre employment test and decided that was it. I just told myself to quit buying it and if I wanted to smoke it then I could hit one of my friends up since they all did it and most still do. I haven't done it since that day. My career was more important.

You're confusing your addiction analysis. Physical addiction is just as bad as psychological addiction, which is only topped by physiological addiction. Just because a substance doesn't seem physically addictive, doesn't mean that it's not.

Alcohol withdrawl, is the one withdrawl someone can die from, versus drugs. Yet the drug user is still extremely dependent on a drug psychological and because it can be as strong as a physical dependency, I'd say there really is no difference. Withdrawl is because of dependence, period. If one can withdrawl, or not, is more dependent on the success and attention they give to staying sober/clean, and not whether their drug of choice was physically addictive or not.
