They can try.. but I don’t believe widespread usage of those is going to come on board anytime soon… They’ll be some here and there that’s about it for A while

I believe that it'll start with the smaller contracts. It might be fine for "a while".
I have some tinfoil hat theories, but they may never come into fruition throughout our lifetime.
Waiting for "bot-lizards" to begin canvassing the truck stops for johns.

In waiting for the first case of one of these going haywire, causing a mass casualty event and the company getting slapped with 100% of the liability and legal issues

Getting the things to drive safely is actually the easy part. The driver does too much other stuff that these tech bros who have never held a real job have never even thought about.

Jim Adler "The Texas Hammer", Thomas J. Henry, et al are already preparing to file lawsuits on behalf of the first crash victims.

I still want to see one drive from the BC coast up into the Interior on the Coquihalla during the winter months. Bet it ends up piled into a guardrail before it reaches Zopkios.

The hubris of these people thinking they're going to reinvent this entire industry in their own image "by 202X" or whatever stupidly optimistic timetable is kind of funny. It's easy to believe that while we're flying high on the latest technology stock bubble and we're throwing almost unimaginable sums of money on runaway speculative ventures of all sorts, but sooner or later it'll come crashing back down to earth and after enough delays and broken promises they'll all be taken out and shot by the market.

    RockinChair and drvrtech77 Thank this.
