That's good news, I start on 28 May in Charlotte and am really pumped, Happy to start this new career wi a great Company! Just got the CDL A from Division of Motor Vehicles Yesterday
And guysas far as things going on your Dac report (ie..failure of a drug test on a pre hire or health issues) What I was being told is that it's based on the fact that your now a CDL holder regardless of the Company and the DAC is about your license not the Company. So, if your doing a pre hire and any of these issues (drugs or health) are because of a failure on a pre hire for ANY company it will be on your DAC report and must be divulged (sp) to potential employers because they will see it on there, It's on your permenet record. Saying that it's better to get clean or get in shape BEFORE you go through even a pre hire so it's not on your permenet record.

It CAN be put on your DAC............
However, it may or may NOT be reported !!!!!!!!!!!!! -
My son started out with them ,and has nothing but good to say about Schneider. Also the son of a freind of mine started out with them and the same thing, good comments. While I was out on the road,I talked with many Schneider drivers, who seemed to like their job. This has been a few years ago,so I dont know what they are like now. One thing I learned about trucking companies, they are all pretty much the same. If you get hooked up with a good dispatcher and planner, you are gonna be AOK. Another thing to keep in mind just starting out is,You gotta pay your dues.As a newbee your not gonna get the choice runs til you have proven yourself.Same way with any job.

Yeah, my plan is to take the per deim at the end of the year (should be around 7-8000.00 doing OTR) and then place that in a IRA because Schneider will match what you put in a IRA at the end of every year (one of their perks). So hopefully 16,000.00 per year in a IRA without effecting my paycheck, BOOYOW!

First off, congrats on your license and your prehire!!

I just can't see how a company you're not even hired onto, could in any way damage your DAC. Just doesn't seem ethical, or legal to me.
Where did that info come from?
Not arguing with you, just curious, you're only relaying something you were told.
BTW, to any if you're dirty, stay about 30 miles behind me!!!Last edited: May 20, 2010

Thanks man, I'm really ready to start rolling and on the second i spoke to 1 JB Hunt Driver (35 yrs exp), 1 Schneider driver (30 yrs exp) , 3 Private trucking School Instructors, and 1 Division of Motor Vehicles Rep (The person that test's you on the range and say's yes or no to you getting your license) and she also told me that her brother and father are truck drivers. After all that I am thinking I'll listen to their experience, can't hurt

I think the DMV rep should have her act together. Wouldn't be the first I've been wrong. [Still trying that walk on water thing]. But it sure doesn't sound ethical to me. In fact, it sounds like a pretty nasty thing to do to a person. Consider this, and I'm not saying SNI would do this, the sample comes back positive, the person is in fact clean, the company puts it on their DAC. False positives have been known to happen. Now would that company do a second screening? I doubt it. So, a driver is banned from getting hired for a LLLOOOONNNNNNNNGGGGG time. We all know that some drugs, legal ones that is, can produce a false positive. I don't know what all those are.
I think if something like that ever happened to me, a lawyer would be in order.
Wow, companies can be nasty at times. It would be interesting to see what companies would do something like that. Now if a guy came in with tracks all over his arms and legs, I'd think that would be a different story.
Glad I'm not the one to make a determination like that. It would be horrible to be wrong.
But unfortunately, I've got a conscience, not always a good thing.

Requires that if you refuse or fail a drug test that it gets reported on the Hire Right database. I dont believe that the physical is reported though.

By the way, Im off to orientation at Schneider, so I wont be on this forum for a while. I wish everyone the best. When I get back I will detail my experiences here. Cheers.

OOOPS I didn't know you had finance background. I prefer premium pay as well.
