Did the warranty get you fixed up? Liners and rings? I'd be interested to know what would happen if the truck was in the shop for most of the 30 days - doesn't sound like much of a deal on that end.

When I bought my Freightliner Century, I bought it full well knowing that I would replace it within the following year. It was a high miler and therefore I was able to get it for very little money. An oil analysis done on the truck proved to be correct, that it was in decent shape mechanically. I ran the truck and also followed my plan of putting money away for it's replacement. She started throwing some codes and running weird, so I figured it was either overhaul or trade. The overhaul would have cost more than the truck was worth and I'd still have a truck with well over a million miles. I took that money (and some I didn't want to spend) and got this truck.
Thing is...in order to make it in any business, you HAVE to, MUST keep your overhead down as low as possible. I got a SMOKIN' deal on this truck and plan on keeping her happy and healthy, as I'm not interested in a new one with all the DEF, SCR, DPF crud on it.Click to expand...

We have all seen the ads Next Truck. In a lot of thr truck papers I see ads for a company called Arrow who eslls and leases trucks of all makes and models with milage between 200,000 to 600,000 with warrenties. They have all kinds of programs to get a truck and pretty much all financing looks to be in house. My question is this, what does anyone really know about these guys? Im looking for facts, not I feel like talking so hijack the post and post bs. Now I have already seen a ad on their sit for a KW900 with 86" studio with fridge, loaded, crome gallore and has 200,000 miles on, with warrenty asking $79,000 for it. Im just wondering how good any of their programs are and if anyone has completed the terms with them and how was the experiance with it all including talking with them and working with them. How was it when you needed repairs done, any hassles? How hard a time did you have getting the trk leassed on to a company that was from or thru them? how long did it take from day 1 to the day you got into your truck? Im not finding much on the net on them but I know they have been around for a few. thanks everyone.

I have a friend that has purchased (cash deal) a truck from Arrow. He's had it about a month and a half so far I guess. He said he thought he was treated well and feel he worked a good deal. He's had no issues that I know of with the truck, so I cannot comment on their service on his behalf.
I don't know what your situation is nor do I wish to insult your intelligence, but please do what you can to keep your overhead down. Especially if you're just starting out. Everyone that knows me, knows that I constantly bang my fist on that point. You can always upgrade to a nicer truck down the road, that's for certain. But why make it so difficult on yourself with hefty truck / trailer payments and all the other fun things that suck $$ out of our pockets?
I apologize in advance if I've insulted you...not my intent at all. Just trying to help!
Good luck and keep us posted!newly crusin, HwyPilot and Fratsit Thank this. -

HEY THERE!
I purchased a truck from Arrow about a month ago,
( yes Gears,it's me).
I wasn't gonna go to Arrow in the beginning,
my original salesman left and went to another dealership, I guess he signed a non-compete, because I told him if he went somewhere else that I would still buy a truck from him personally, good guy.
Didn't have to finance, told the new salesman "if you don't wanna deal, I'll go somewhere else"
I said to him that I didn't need to hear the smeal's about
$xxx per month.
Saving for a while, don't have a truck payment.
Well here goes,
finally found the truck My wife and I wanted, spent about 1.5 hours on the lot checking out the truck w/ the salesman, basically ignoring him while I was checking it out with flashlights, rags,
climbing under it,
pretty much going over as much as possible on the lot.
It was raining slightly too, didn't bother me at all, salesman went in to grab his umbrella/raincoat.
Stayed w/me though the whole time.
Halfheartedly listened to the salesman's line's.
I didn't make an offer or imply I was interested.
I waited another couple of days to get closer to the end of the month ( for their end of month sales count),
Then called to deal, offered a price
( at 7:40pm over the phone)
on the condition that Arrow would deliver and pay for the delivery cost to move the truck about 2.5/3.5 hours to my heavy truck center to get a DOT inspection, State inspection and several other things checked out, which I paid for.
Also for Arrow to repair ANY found problems,
( I got this in writing and signed by the salesman, on a Arrow company letterhead, explained in detail).
Arrow delivered the truck to my heavy truck center,
at no cost to me.
They found both cab air bags needed to be replaced, the workstation latch mechanism needed to be replaced,
the left side fuel tank rubber gaskets under the metal strap's needed to be replaced,
the battery hold down needed to be replaced,
adjustment of all of the brakes,
a warranty item from Volvo that the windsheild washer motor needed to be replaced,
( no cost to anybody, Volvo warranty repair),
a few other things too , I don't remember, small items.
All at no cost to me.
The salesman had a PO# for my truck center for all the repairs in 10 min.,
my truck center called me after the salesman called w/a PO#.
Arrow paid for all repair's for every item including labor.
So,
Arrow paid for the delivery to my heavy truck center, paid for parts/labor for items found at checkout at my truck center, just like they said they would.
I think the straight forwardness of the salesman made this deal go smooth,
he knew I was buying w/cash ( certified bank check)
and would go somewhere else if they were not going to deal at point of sale.
My opinion of Arrow, they have the trucks, they are more expensive.
They did do everything they said they would,
( SO FAR ! ),my truck is still under warranty.
I chose Arrow due to several other O/O's I kept in contact with purchased their trucks at Arrow and had few problems after the sale.
The other O/O's wanted similar details as myself in buying a truck but mainly that a truck was ready to go to work directly after purchase.
Also, I dealt w/ a salesman who didn't bxxxxxxt me, like a few of the others.
I can refer him to you if you like.
I also wanted a truck that was ready to go,
about a week after purchase, I hit quite a few runs, over 3400 miles, no problems.
Headed on a 5000 mile run in 2-3 days.
Continues to make me $ every day, Cummins engine is great on 8.5 % hills w/ 77,000 gross.
In the near future, I intend to locate a 2nd truck,
I don't think I would go to Arrow, probably locate one at Repo agent or an auction.
I would have more time to shop around.
Nothing against Arrow, not right now anyway.
Defiantly will go w/a Cummins engine,
no doubt,
unless I get a good deal on a CAT.
Hope this helps.

I see their ads all the time, and that they offer many diffrent programs. Has anyone gone thru them for a truck? if so how was the experiance, what could one expect if they do? Do you now own the truck? What are the payments really like? What program did you end up going into? Any issues signing it on with a company? How is the warrenty? did it really cover you when it was to cover the repair(s)? Have never heard anything on these guys and was just wondering how they work and if on the up and up or not. please, lets keep this a ligit topic, lets not talk crap just for the sake of talking. thanks

My goal right now is to just get back on my feet. I did the mistake of doing a lease purchase thru Crime Inc and paid dearly for it as well as my family. In long term, the wife and I would like to own our own truck and be o/o's even though she doesnt have a cdl. Right now, Im just doing homework and finding out what I can. My credit from my early adulthood is trashed, so I sadly now have to go down roads like arrow. But before I ever sign another contract for a truck, I wanna make sure my homework is done, not only that, I know I have a lot more yet to learn, but I feel this experiance just opened my eyes and taught me a lot about leaseing, not to mention doing it and signing on to the company you get the truck from, never again. thanks and take it easy out there.newly crusin, HwyPilot and Gears Thank this.
