Here it is, 9pm on May 22. I checked in yesterday at 4:30pm. I've been checking in about every six hours or so. Just checked in again to see what the progress is. (That's almost 30 hours.) For a 3-stop load, they have 180 cases loaded.

There are no restaurants in Plainview that will deliver out here without adding a $5 to $10 charge. There are no showers within a reasonable distance without renting a motel room. There is no coffee machine inside the driver lounge. There is no light in the ladies' room. It's dusty and very windy. Have to walk the dog across the street...

I think you get the picture...

That's not the point. They ordered the truck for yesterday and still don't have the trailer even half loaded. It's a waste of my time. Oh, but I'm a truck driver, so my time isn't worth anything, right?

fancypants, truckermac and roaddawg92 Thank this.

    That really stinks Injun!
I am about 250 miles south of you. If I was a little closer I'd be glad to get you some coffee and chow. And it has been REALLY windy yesterday and today!

Ahhhh, Cargill and Plainview. Been there many times. Closest trk stop to you is Griffins at 20 miles away. Last time I was there, I flat out told my company that 40 miles was getting added cause I wasn't going to sit here in my own filth cause they didn't know how schedule. Surprised the hell out of me when they authorized it. Probably had something to do with the fact that they KNEW I was going to do it.
I've been to a lot of meat plants and think that place is the worst. Will admit tho, they fed me well on Thanksgiving day.

This was supposed to be a drop/hook. Well, I did drop the trailer, and will hook to a trailer...it's just a question of when.

You forgot to mention the STENCH and FLIES around that plant! I sat there over 48 hours last July. And Knight Refrigerated had the nerve to complain about my "excessive idle time"! I told them when the entire Knight family was willing to sit in that poop hole, under a blazing Texas sun, with no A/C, the dust, flies, and stench in the cab, for at least 24 hours then I would do it for twice as long, but if not...kiss my big, white, hairy, and stinky butt!!!
I never heard another word about it. (BTW, that was supposed to be a drop/hook load also!)

    Dna Mach Thanks this.

Looks like I'm getting a 34 out of this one.

And I'd take yleecoyote23 up on the offer, but I was always told watch out for them coyotes...
