Yup they will fleece you of all the money they can then remove you (fired) from the truck and lease it to some other sucker.
My wife and I are finally going to training for C. R. England

YOU GO !!!! As a very experienced ( read burned ) driver I can only tell you that it is what it is and ALL trucking companies have their good points AND their really bad ones. They make it tough for you because they want to weed out the ones that can hang for the long term and the cry babies that want it all ( new trucks, great loads, great destinations) when they want it without putting in the time, road rash and truck stop quisine to get it. It will be what you make of it and how good your attitude is about eating pavement until you have proven yourself to them. Driver turn over is a huge issue for trucking companies but, especially the ones that pay tuition, you can't blame them for wanting to weed out BEFORE they stake a substantial amount of money into their employee ! One major hint for you ( take it for what it worth) , your first truck will probaby be a dog and your first few loads will be SO f* up that you spend more hours on truckstop pavement than interstates. Understand you ARE being tested so the less you complain and the more you work WITH them the more "capitol" you will have with dispathers. Tough it out, if you want to succeed you will !!!
May the wind always be at your back !
Stormcatahoula and AfterShock Thank this. -
Has another C.R. England wannabe fallen off the edge of the earth?
Is it too soon to add another name to the Missing Persons list?
~~~~~ RONDROID! WHERE ARE YOU?
jtrnr1951 Thanks this. -
Why ask if y'all aren't intending to listen?
If so, it'll help if y'all bury y'all's head deeper in the sand.
Did you sugar-coat the truth to them?
Did you make false claims to them?
Did you direct them to a dead-end road?
Did you hold back important information because it might upset them?
If what y'all read here makes y'all feel "run down", it's a personal problem. Sometimes the truth hurts. This is one of those times.
To avoid that "run down" feelin' --- run away from the way it is. But it's hard to hide from reality.
Hmmmmmm
And failing due to ignoring repeated warnings is what? The sign of a wise person?
##### the torpedoes, full speed ahead with eyes wide shut.
Must be nice to be able to afford failure.
If that's the case you've got nothin' to lose worth keepin'.
Most of us strive to avoid failure. It's kinda embarrassing to admit y'all could have, and should have, listened and avoided the pit-falls.
But HaiL! If you can afford to fail, go for it.
Odds are you'll succeed at failure just like thousands before you have.
Who knows? Maybe you'll be braggin' about how you've finally failed, proving it is possible to fail with a little effort and a big ego.
Then again, why try to impress someone who doesn't care if they fail?
If that's the "life" you suggest we "get" --- thanx, but no thanx.
Losers are a dime a dozen, which is pretty close to what C.R. England pays per mile.
But, HeY!
Who knows?
Who cares?
You might beat the odds and succeed.
Keepin' in mind that sometimes success is a failure in disguise, just redefined a tad.
So little to gain, yet so much to lose. A misery that loves company so much that mislabeling sage advice as negative is acceptable.
Above all else: To thine own self, be true.
Good luck.
Well, I hope it isn't bad for everyone. My question is if it were bad for everyone, how are they staying open?
