I don't think there is a perfect trucking company (or any company for that matter) and I'm not shy about pointing out warts at HB, but all-in-all it works for me and most (but not all) of the drivers I meet.

Send me a PM here when you head out for orientation I'll see if I can pester my dispatcher to swing me through Omaha.

Haven't yet... I did have a run last year with a brand new trailer (I think it was a Great Dane) from our yard in Omaha to Mondovi, Wisconsin for Marten though... that place is out in the sticks!

the reason why i'm asking is that i've checked out new trailers to Hill Bros drivers when they came to Wayne.

Pretty sure as a lease operator I get the heaviest loads available lol, so empties are few and far between. If I get one of those runs I'll see if I can look you up!

    #### good questions, wish I knew half of the answers! :)

I know the hiring area changes from day to day -- depends on freight and such. I'm 99% sure company drivers can bring a pet along, there are enough of them you see at the terminal when you drop by.

Standard on/off rotation is one day off per seven out, where you live determines how long you need to stay out before you can head in. The midwest around Kansas / Missouri is 10-14 days out, 2 at home and a wider band around more of the midwest is like 16-18 out, then the poor guys living in California and such are out three or four weeks at a stretch.

I personally stay out for 11 or 18 days then take a three day weekend, but I lease a truck and I can determine my own home time.

Talk with Abbie or Erin in recruiting for more specifics, the number is at the HillBros.com web site.

I personally leased a (then) new 2007 Volvo 780 through Hill Bros. I know of other drivers who have leased with other outfits that specialize in such then came over to HB with the truck.

You can find a lot more details on my blog which is linked in one of the HB threads.
