Oh, they remember, just not your load. I got a repower 2 nights ago, at 7pm mountain time, needed to be 400 milesaway by 9pm, 11 at the latest. Then they told me whenever I got it there they'd take it (Freddy's load) and so when I got there, they wouldn't take it. I ended up getting a 10 before they put us in a door and unloaded us.

Then, next load wouldn't pick up until the next night, so the co-drv and I got a room for the night. And lo and behold, the next morning there's a request for us to repower yet another Freddy's load. We decided we'd rather be stuck in a large city with no load after we deliver on the 1st than in podunk nowhere, Idaho on a sunday night.

I've found mine averages close to 7, depending on how many miles we get in a week, and where we're at. I've have weeks of well over 7, and even with having a high idle (they're not running us), we're still seeing 6.8

Last week I started slow, but in the end ran well. I had 4 1.5-11 hour on driving line days. A reset would have been mandatory by Sunday, I would have been out of hours.
You can technically get more miles a week/ month if you run 11 hours a day and take restarts at the end of you hours.
That is the issue that PAT, Crash etc have with the current HOS. One of the issues at least.
We are not in a perfect trucking world though. We do not have 100% drop and hook. We do not always have a load that will pick up as soon as we deliver. So the numbers they use are wrong. And taking that restart every week is not the way to go sometimes.
Just remember though. A 34 is not that long. It is not like talking a whole 2 days off. If you run hard enough in 6 days that you will be waiting 2 days to have hours to get anywhere, it is worth it to take it. And if I am running that way I can guarantee I will have ALLOT more miles at the end of the week than a guy running 9 hours a day.

Now that I've been repowered, I'm taking a 34. Had to many 4 & 5 hour days in a row followed by full 10.5 hour days. So instead of bumping my 70 and having short days with a possibility of having to repower everything, I think it's best to just do the 34, plus I already have a 3K week.

I went 6 weeks before my previous 34, and 2.5 weeks to get to this one. It all really depends on the loads that are dealt to ya.

I couldn't even begin to guess what anybody looks at. When they want to put you under the microscope they can come up with all sorts of info about ya. When they don't the can barely figure out what state you're in.

If you park in the LARGE truck parking area, there is a really nice building off the parking lot with clean restrooms and free showers for drivers.
While at the shower facility they will give you a coupon for a buy one get one buffet.
It is also good for half price on a single buffet.
It is good at the Casino across the street. It is the Rainbow if I remember correctly.

Hey Grey Ghost, did you ever work for Covenant? Had a friend that went by that same name, and I have been looking for him for a while now.

We are in a motel not wanting to idle for over 34 hours. Delivered at around midnight last night, and do not pu until 15:00 tomorrow, got wife seated on truck so I can get the loads there on time, tight loads right now, and want them to be on time. She will stay seated and drive as relief, and then come back off around the 15th.:biggrin_25521:
