I'm on a GoldWing motorcycle, doing quite a few long trips in Canada. I sure appreciate the CB company of a truck driver on those long stretches through northern Ontario and the Prairies. So please don't ignore the two-wheeler when it comes on, it might be me. Cheers.

Of course a CB really is a very good suppliment to a radar detector...especially now that cops have instant on radar, at least if you have your radio on and a trucker happens to make a "bear report" over the radio you at least have time to prepare.
Also why is it truckers refuse to talk to anyone in a 4 wheeler? -
I copy, "Johnny R..." Nothin' wrong with communications between 2-wheelers and 18-wheelers. Done it myself... that's my $.02 on that whole scene. "Adios, and Happy Trails!!!"

Has the talk on the CB really gone downhill since the 80's or are we just getting older and less tolerant? I have to ask myself this a lot. In 2006 my CB broke and I took it out of the truck and never put it back in. Just recently I took it out of the garage and entertained the thought of putting it back in the truck. I spent $40 at the shop only to find out that it had a bunch of cracks in the circuit board. I just bought a new Galaxy 949 and am putting it in. I will probably keep it turned down unless I'm running with another one of our hands.

Having just got my license yesterday, I plan to have the CB turned off especially around truck stops. I don't want to hear what people say about my inexperienced driving!

Here's an example of an idiot. Today my partner was testing his radio, which has talkback and he was using a d104 mobile. So it started squealing and I said, " You're squealing Duke." All of a sudden here comes some ##### saying "Who are you to tell him he sounds bad, you sound like crap, blah blah blah." I politely asked him to mind his business, but he persisted. It was all I could do not to fire up the box and put him on restriction, but self control got the better of me.
