1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

In Canada you can't even get a CDL with a DUI, let alone get hired.

Hey Ronss, I got a DUI back in 04 I have one heck of a time finding work, Presently I am not working I have experience in dry van reefer live floor and frame less overweight loads. It is the only thing on my drivers license besides a fail 2 stop at a traffic sign. Only one who has hired me was a small companies who new someone I know so far and that was just one. I myself once again am on the search for work with no success as of yet but not given up. It is not the companies for me it is insurance. It is costly an people dont want to put out the extra cash out on a driver that may not last or run good. I have stable long term employment. If you are a new driver my guess is no no one will hire you. Sorry but thats insurance companies for you.:biggrin_25510:

i was driving during the the time of the dui,s....got them off-duty time while at home...driving car around....its as bad to get a dui in a car as a truck allmost.

may truckinig called me up , and once i stated that i had 2 dui,s back in 94....they lost interested...drove for 15 yrs...no accidents ....

i am about to give up.....called 6 big carriers today..same answer from all...will keep trying......but its looks like the second one i got was a death wish to my trucking career..

seems like 15 yrs without a recurrence would mean something....there ought to be a time limit on it

quess warner trasportation will hire no dui folks now..they had 2 accidents last yr, dui cases, and the lawyers were tough on them i quess.

I got a offer from a place hauling live floor trash haller. I shot it down since I really want OTR. But now thinking of doing it till I can find what I want. I did it before a year after my DUI. and new others who had DUI's who did it. This was haling in the New England states. I am now in FL and got a job offer doing it. If you dont mind a little work you may want to check into it. If you want to know more about what is involved in it you can e-mail me at shawnfrommaine2000@yahoo.com.

From what I have seen, heard, and watched happen at my own job which is pretty lenient you won't stand a chance with 2 dui's. Unless you are ok driving for smaller concrete places, maybe.
