Pick a panel and lift....
You undo the tarp and climb in the back to flip the tarp over. You don't ever break one completely down, but one side only takes a few minutes.

Fixed it for you! Using a sidekit is like riding a bicycle. Sure they do the job but since they have them with motors, why would you?
-
Have you ever seen the new "Slide Kit"? Probably pointless since it's probably just as expensive as a conestoga but maybe lighter and more aerodynamic since it's lower.

I was looking at the Fontain Renegades, any good? -
Haven't had a Fontaine for a few years but the last one we had was tough, but it was heavy. Are you looking at new or used? We currently have 3 combo flats (Wilson CF-965's) used for lumber. We always used to buy combo's for the lumber routes because weight wasn't an issue and the price was always enough cheaper than all aluminum to justify them. However lately it seems when looking at new the price difference as been as low as only $5k difference. After sandblasting and painting a few of them that price difference looks trivial. I guess what I'm saying is IMO the small change is payment isn't worth the headache of the rust. That being said I wouldn't be afraid of a Fontaine, better than most other brands. IMO one made of wood would be better than Transcrack.
I've got a 2005 Wilson for sale if your looking. Perfect original paint with or W/O sidekit. It's probably hauled 15 loads since we've owned it, bought it as a spare from a dealer who repo'd it to eventually put a conestoga on but ended up not needing it and has been sitting inside a building until recently. 48x102, big polished toolbox, aluminum wheels, INTRAAX 300 suspension CF-969 Coil Hauler (65,000 in 4'). -
That slidekit really isn't any different than yours john other than the top. I don't know if I'd like the back door setup.
Isn't the renegades the aluminum one or is that the phantom? -
let me 1st off say I know nothing about flatbeds. But I was behind one today and itt was not a stepdeck but it looked only knee high. what was it?
-
Was it from Canada with a teal colored truck pulling it the reason i ask theres a company out of Canada that runs there flats real low about the height of a step and there trucks are lowered, they do this because they haul alot of containers and they want the truck & trailer height as low as possible the trailers even have container locks on them.

Renegade is the #2 combo price wise, behind the Revolution Hybrid which is the one without cross members.
-
A friend of mine has the one without crossmembers. Its like a cattycomb or something like that. Hes already had to have work done on the floor because it caved in. Say's it holds a good arch.
