I'll say hello next week if you're still there. Time for me to be routed back to Dallas for my quarterly blood pressure test.

Good evening all from the Great and wonderful Amarillo TX....just passing through, well kinda of...out of hours, repowered my Cheshire CT load to a team, I have never delivered a load to Cheshire, picked up many though. Now on a load to San Antonio for Monday morning. So I will spend Saturday in Amarillo, to get hours back, then Sunday roll on down, for my delivery.

Anybody running 287 from Texas to Colorado, be prepared for lots of construction and one lane roads, and 15 minute waits.

Hi all. Sitting at C&S in Woodbridge NJ for delivery in an hour. Then off to the NJ docks for a load to IL. Maybe hometime? Will have to ask Monday. Last load I picked up was already 1 day late being dispatched, from Amarillo to Assonet Mass. Got it there on time. Then got a load from Londonderry NH that was already late for dispatch going to Woodbridge. Get to shipper and told it will be six to eight hours at least. sigh! Ten hours later they call with a dock number and I sit there for six more hours before they even lock me down! three hours later I'm loaded. Five hours later I'm at the receiver. What a run. $100 or so, and two days ate up. My pre plan is for Monday , 14 miles away, going 950 miles to IL. Ugh! Short pay this week! Otherwise going along well. Truck is outfitted with all I need but micro. When I go on hometime I might have enuff to get computer out of hock. Well, hope you are all doing well, and welcome aboard to the newbies!

Every time I start to think my days are tough, I just come over to this page and read it.
Then I realize pulling a flatbed is a piece of cake!

I had a wonderful Monday...Made my delivery north of San Antonio at 7am, then waited for dispatch. Get dispatched at 10am. Got sent to a Tyson plant in Seguin TX, about 20 miles east. load assignment has a 7 am appt, and no dld. hmmm.... Head over, check in, and the guard says I will see you at 4am tomorrow for this load. I sure hope not, as it is due in chicago on Thursday morning 8am, 1200 miles away. drop my trailer, check in, get told it will be after 7pm before we even start to load.

oh well, I am well rested, so I go and park in a corner over some grass and weeds, upwind from the plant. enjoy some daytime TV, can't sleep. Check with shipping at 7pm, trailer is in door, but that is it. Oh well watch some more tv, go to sleep. They will call me when the load is ready, so they say. Wake up naturally at 3:30am. walk over, the trailer has coded, reset the codes, walk inside, find the shipping lady and ask. Yes the trailer is loaded, just waiting for the plant to clear all the product. The plant is on break, but she checks the computer, and low and behold the product is clear, she prints out the invoice, I hook up, shut the doors, and wait for the trailer to cool down, went into defrost for 20 minutes, but then started cooling.

Send in my loaded and rolling, at 4:15 am, running late and repower request. I don't trust tyson scales anymore....head over to a pilot, scale out, I am good, and head north. Plan on Making Big Cabin OK for the day, but the repower is set up for muskogee OK.

Swap trailers, mine going to Laredo for Thursday, too much time, but I am told I can drop it early. Okay. Check the trailer out, and find a massive air leak on the NEW abs air valve. The other driver knew about it, but just kept on rolling. well I am now on Breakdown, no air valve on the trailer, and may be here for a day while a new air valve is found. The mechanic thinks he can find one around the area. Some days it just does not pay to get out of bed, (yesterday, a whole 46 miles). Some trainers really need to start doing their jobs correctly.

I know the feeling about the trailer. Did a repower outside DesMoine the other day and found trailer tail lights out, expired regs. Took half day to get fixed. Had delivery in Chicago at 6am the next morning. Had to drive all night to make it (with half hour to spare).
Still fuming over the other driver's comment on the trailer: "Oh, I never check those things. I don't want to lose any time waiting for road rescue".

Please make a big stink about that other driver to safety about the abs valve and running with it. That other driver is using your logbook to fix his problems. I've learned to pretrip the trailer now while its still connected to the other truck. IF the trailer isn't safe, then I refuse the repower until that driver has it fixed. There's no reason he should be able to get away with that.

Yes you've swerved into one of my biggest pet peeves.

heyas. Just dropped a trailer full of 42,000 lbs of LOOSE, yes, loose carrots. They upended the trailer and took two hours to unload, and still left the cracks stuffed full of carrots. Now sitting at the T/A in Napoleon OH waiting for the PO for washout to come over QA. There must be well over 100 lbs of wasted carrots in the dumpster. What a waste! Anyway, heading for home after my 10 hr rest for 5 days of housework and hopefully a bbq and some cards with family. Making decent miles and money. Nothing that will buy a new house with pool and jacuzzi, but better than anything I'd find at hometown, plus I really like the road and the varying scenery and schedule. The truck is prettyy well outfitted now and seems homey and comfortable. Hope you are all doing well and enjoying your trips as much as I. Keep the shiny side up!
