Got a quick question here... the 34 hr reset can that be taken on line 1 and 2 or does it all have to be on line 1??? Can some one please shed some lite on this subject for me please....thank you
-
It can be any combination of line one and two.fr8tshkr Thanks this.

You wouldn't happen to know the reg number would you....Log books are always a little tricky these days? I have been told only line "1" andI have been told either line "1" or "2" LOL..I just need to know if I can have the dang reset LOL
-
Would make no sense to log it on line 2 the whole time and line 1 doesn't work if your in the sleeper berth area. As a DOT officer explained it to me he usually overlooks ppl on line 2 for 34 hrs but it can be considered falsification because we have to get outta the truck for a bathroom break or drinks/food. That leaving of the truck is required to be on line 1. But as I said most officers overlook it as it really does not matter because we were in the same physical location the whole time. http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/rules-regulations/truck/driver/hos/hos-faqs.asp section F talks about the 34 hr restart. This regulation is found in Section 395.3(b) and (c).

ok found it in the reg book 395.3 but it states any off duty periord doesn't clarify if it has to be only line 1 so I guess I am still puzzled but thanks for the help I guess I can sit on hold an hr to talk to someone in logs..oh the joy I can hardly wait

ok I understand Dabs and what she is saying and Nilao...Hubby and I run as a team....He has been doing local runs between Portland and Seattle....I have remained on line 1 and 2 the the whole 2 days....Can I legally take a reset if the truck has not been in the same location?......I read the webpage you included but it really doesn't have my question there...and thanks for all the help
dabs Thanks this. -
Allow me to give an example to explain.
Driver A is driving the truck on the last leg of the trip to get home. Driver B is in the sleeper berth for 10 hours during this final leg. Driver A arrives at home and Both drivers go off duty for 24 hours. The next day driver B starts the first leg of a new trip while driver A goes to the sleeper berth for 10 hours.
This is in essence 34 hours off duty.dabs Thanks this.
