    I'm having a great laugh reading these posts about had to wait 4 hours, five hours to unload, left my trailer a mess, etc...

    Y'all should try loading at a Tyson/IBP/Cargill, which are all the same company now. There is a 2-day load window, but they want the trailer there ASAP. If you get it to them, they will take their sweet time loading it until they are bumping against drop dead time...at least 24 hours after you gave them your trailer.

    Two weeks ago, I got stuck in Plainview, TX for two nights. Sunday morning, they turn the water off to the driver bathrooms.

    Last week, I spent a night and most of the following day in Garden City, KS and had to drive through the night to get the load where it needed to be when they finally loaded it. There were austere facilities there, but at least there's a truck stop a few miles away.

    I used to go through that BS with IBP in Amarillo. They wanted you to drop your trailer off in the afternoon and then come back at 3 AM, even though we had drop trailers there. I discovered that if I just showed up in the morning (not 3AM though) that they would have loaded a drop trailer. Screw 'em. These morons milk the system to take advantage of drivers. You gotta play the game to your advantage just like they do.

    Doing the Armidillo thing myself today. Love thme 4 day windows. Got lucky tho and mine was ready when I got there. Didn't have any hrs left tho so will pick it up tomorrow.
    Dang but them spots for backing your clean tlr in are Narrow!!!! Found out I had to drop the gear down 1st then back the tlr in.

    I just did a load out of Amarillo last weekend on Saturday. The DDT on it was 1900, and it was ready when I got there at noon. When they had the load info pulled up on the computer in the guard shack, I was able to see that it had been loaded the day before at 3pm.

    Budweiser CO distribution in Aurora. I arrived at 10am on time for my appointment. Five hours later I got a door. Three hours later they haven't even started loading me. I will die of thurst before I drink another InBev product.

    Domino Sugar in New Orleans, LA - according to a few drivers if you are not there w/ in 30 minutes before appt time or 30 minutes late then they waive you off completely. The other day arrived way early hoping to get in however waited to the 4:00pm time and was waived in. Foreman sees one piece of glass in the far corner of the trailer, picks it up, and sees that glass is embedded in a few of the boards and that he is unable to load the trailer. Would have been nice to find that out at 10:30AM. It doesnt appear that place gets much product moved w/ no leniency on appt times and the fact they need new off the lot trailers. Several trucks other than me were sent away the other day.

    Jewel Foods in Melrose Park, IL (suburb of Chicago). they use lumpers to unload, who obviously get paid by the hour. They pull 1 pallet, about every 20-30 minutes. After about 4-5 hrs. just to unload...they then have to 'breakdown' the load (unless you have a complete load of all the same product). THEN, a 'checker' has to come and 'check' each and every pallet against the shipping manifest. Then and only then, will you get a green light to go in and get your BOLs. Been to 'Jewel Foods' about 15-20 times and never been out of there in under 6 hrs. Usually a 6-8 hr. unload.

    I have been there a few times. Here's how you can shorten your stay. Keep or make copies of your bills in the truck. When the lumper comes out for payment get him to sign your bills. Tell him you need his signature to show he was paid. Once he signs it, leave. #### their counting, you have signed bills.:biggrin_2556:

    I went to jewel in melrose park once. The lumpers unloaded expeditiously...after waiting for a couple hours to touch anything. Then i was told they were done, i had to give them a check for $150ish, and then i had to stand by the pallets for over an hour for a checker to come by..gawd....

    I will never shop at a jewel, ill tell you that.
