Wow, article says another driver wrecked and died one hour after the first collisions. You would think by then there would be some warning.
-
wow.
I dont know if anyone remembers or if it hit the big news but a while back on I80 between the I80/I65 and I80/I90 junctions in indiana (just east of illinois state line) some idiot hit and killed a construction worker than took off on foot running, and traffic was stopped for..obvious reasons. It hadnt been very long at all before i got to the I80/90 junction, and there was a construction sign, "AVOID DELAYS TAKE I90 to I65 SOUTH TO STAY ON 80" or some such.
Why cant they put warning signs like that up for any big accident with long cleanup...... -
Here is one persons intelligent, well thought out reply.

Private trucking highways?? What a great idea!! Put them parallel to the freight train tracks...what a moron

Wow what a report. This is another sad day, my heart a nd prayers go out to the families of the departed drivers.
As for the comment by one of the online post to that story. Gotta love the thought process or lack there of that went into her point. I feel the need to post her e-mail address here so all could write a personal note to her, but it might be a rule violation, so you are all free to look it up and do what you feel the need to do... I'm not saying... I'm just saying!!!

larger rear lights on all big rigs might help. Trucking companies should pull together the profits to build private trucking highways and pay a toll road cost to use and maintain them. Get off automobile highways.
I don't thing larger tail lights would make that much difference. Most trailers have enough lights. I do like those that have the additional turn/tail lights at the top of the trailer. They really stand out due to their height. -
A friend of mine was involved in this..... Glad that she is ok.... waiting to get more info or for the link to load... just found out about this...
I heard about this accident on the Dave Nemo show this am.. Didn't know she was involved until now... yikes!jtrnr1951 Thanks this. -
Have you ever seen two or three trucks running tailgating usally from the same company? I have and this is what happens when the one in the front the only who can see what is in the way has to stop suddenly.
Marksteven, Big Duker and jtrnr1951 Thank this. -
Still amazed at how many so called professional drivers never touch their 4 ways. I turn them on every time I am at the end of any line of slow or stopped traffic. Have driven up on hundreds of deals like this where no one even bothered. Speed limit is only 55 on that road. No excuse for piling into anyone.
Stacked Passion, Giggles the Original, starman32 and 1 other person Thank this.
