I am hoping to join the 28th as well. I got the ball rolling Monday (6/7) and I am just waiting on job verification it seems. Once wrapped up, I will take the test and DOT and be ready to go, assuming all this can be completed in a week or so. We'll see. I am ready myself.
Bethann at Roehl has been one of the most honest, straight-forward people I spoke with regarding my career change. So, If considering Roehl, I would say they really are worth it.

Going running this morning and then again tonight. Repeat that routine daily for the next 14 days on the assumption that the 28th class isn't full and I get everything done in time. Shouldn't be a problem.
Got rid of all the soda (which is hard since I probably drink 3-4/day), nothing but water, fruits and vegs, and lean cuisines for the next two weeks.
Being a little older, my max heart rate is lower than some one in their 20s. Sucks for me, no whining, just more running....fun
BTW, wiseguy did you see this: http://www.goroehl.com/downloads/rdtc/Roehl%20Pre-Work%20Screening.pdf good to practice ahead of time.
Here is a link that shows the PACE: http://www.schneiderjobs.com/www1/g...blic/documents/document/preworkscreen_wmv.wmvLast edited: Jun 12, 2010

6 days to go!
I have just about everything in order to leave. Besides packing, just have one thing left to do which is help my family finish our massive pool rebuild project. Have gotten fried the last few days, so at least I'll have a nice tan when I arrive at school.
I'm definitely psyched about getting out there. -
Are you ready for the heart rate tests? I am still practicing, but still nervous. I got that watch, but am still worried about the pace. I just need to relax and breathe.
-
I'm not worried about them at all at this point since the step test is out. I've passed the same test before a few years ago, and I've been extremely active for that last month. I know I'll get through fine.
Only concern that I have at this point is having the money to survive the next 5 weeks without any income. I'm sure that I'll make it work, but its still a concern. -
I don't know why I can't shake the concern. It might be the 1500 mile round trip if I fail. Bottom line, the fear itself could cause me to fail. No worries, just do it get them over and move on...
The money thing will take care of itself. At least we're picking the right company to work for.Last edited: Jun 22, 2010

Well, in about 13 hours, I'll be hitting the road and heading for Marshfield. Should be getting there at around 4:30, giving myself plenty of time to get settled in and to find a grocery store.
Now, question is, am I ready for 10 hour days 6 days a week.....lol, not really, but gotta deal with it. -
Good grocery store heading L out of the hotel parking lot, perhaps a mile or so up the street.
wiseguy3501 and JunkHauler Thank this.
