    Hey everybody,I;m a wannabe, have been for years.Been around the rigs and ride alongs for years working in the steel business for 26 yrs.I ,ve been thinking of a career change lately but at 50 I might be to old?Always thought about getting a CDL and a job driving a dump truck or something.Anyway you,ve got a great forum here and I enjoy learning new things ,thankyou.

    Well nobody can talk you out of it at this point, you are already here. There are very good schools in NY, make sure you go for one that is nys accredited. Depending on where you are, there is one in Rome and one in Niagra. Don't sign on to one of these puppy mill companies that will have you standing out side of a tractor watching some one back up for 7 1/2 hours a day. Then stick you with a trainer that has been driving for 9 months, so you can learn how to destroy airbags. "Because I wanted to be a truck driver and now I are one." Sir; what I am telling you. Is get you License in NEW YORK.
