I looked at the part num on my airl filt canister & had it cros referenced to donaldson. it is what I use, but I would use fleetguard, or baldwin if needed.

The cleer-air is used along with an a Premo By-Pass oil filtration system.

I bought a Fleet Air Filter at MATS and it improved throttle response and increased fuel mileage around 3/10ths or 4/10ths MPG in my Volvo 770 with the aero hood. The aero hood trucks with the filter inside are restricted and need to breathe.

It is a good point that was made regarding some high flow filters will sometimes let in more dirt. But you do not have to wait till a major problem to find out. Just watch your oil samples and if you see a rise in silicon number (dirt), you will know. Some testing on high flow filters have shown more dirt will get thru, but it is not always the case. Try a high flow filter out, do your oil samples like you should be doing, and watch for any problem. Simple.

The primary issue with reusables is people clean them to often. The need a layer of dirt in order to filter efficiently. However I never see a filter test after the filter has 30,000 miles on them. That would be the real test of flow and efficiency.Displaced Yooper Thanks this.
