1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

I got my class A end of March 2010 and drove for Werner (Dollar General) for a week (did not like it). I have no felonies, DWI's or DUI's and am looking for A or B local work in Richmond area. Please respond to this thread of you are looking for a driver. Thank you.

Only a week???:biggrin_25521:Wow and only had a CDL for 3 months, didn't even give it a try.I had a D.G account with Werner and was pretty good.Less miles but good home time.Sounds like to me trucking an't for you, also with only have a CDL only 3 months your not going find anything local. Most local companies required a min.of 1 year experience.Best bet is to apply at temp services they may help you out.Good luck.

Yeah. You are in a tough position now, for leaving Werner after just a week. No one wants to hire people with under a year of experience. And no company wants to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars to train someone who walks after a week, when they turned away other candidates who really wanted that job. The thing is, you kind of have to put up with what you don't like for a while, or it's REAL HARD to get work. And to get specified cities ... well, that's another story. But, good luck to ya'. Don't get a record full of many short-time jobs. My niece works in HR, and, she won't even do anything with people who can't last long at jubs, except to file them with the "No Thanks" group.

man you put yourself in a bad spot, you may need to retrain through another company and stay there for a bit before you try to find something like that again:biggrin_2556:
