Hindsy,
Let us know if it is true about the step test. Also, do you know the order of the exercises?
Good luck tomorrow, I hope to be up there in two weeks.

they never said any order. I will know soon enough though. Will let you know about that tomorrow.
-
That would be sweet if they actually killed that test. That was the only one that I was worried about.
I might call her tomorrow to see what she says to me as well. -
Good News: Talked to Bethann, Step Test is OUT, officially! Yes!!!
Bad news: Doesn't look like I will start until July 6th. Only a week, but I am ready to go. I am on some kind of waiting list for June 28th, but I don't wish any ill will that someone won't make it.
It gives me an extra week to get my affairs in order and heart rate down more.
I guess I will see you guys (wiseguy & 70charger) there a week later.kickin chicken and Zangief Thank this. -
Well I see that you heard the step test was out.
Day 1 in the books. I'm tired! So it went like this...
Got up an hour earlier than I needed since I'm still on eastern standard time (lol) Met several of the trainers. Seem like the guys are a good group of people.
Got the "knickel tour" of the yard and the town. 1st impression is that this is a very clean town. Not that Erie Pa is dirty, but some areas simply could use a good sprucing up.
During the tour we got the cup thing out of the way. Then it was back to the yard to take our test.
First they take your BP good Then its the ladder. I'm going flatbed so this is only for the flats.
Then its the under the trailer 2 reps 20 seconds each. NO HANDS.... Don't really see the need for not touching anything, but thats the rules. In between we took the HR heart rate... 115 then on to climbing in and out of the trailer. foot- foot-knee-knee-foot-foot and repeat on the way out. 3 points of contact at all times! HR 115... 30lb carry length of trailer then 70 lb cary length of trailer HR 118.. then its inside the trailer to pick up the clothing bag and over head lift of 30lbs HR 115 Then its the 10 squats HR 122... Next wwe did the push and pull test HR 115.... lateral pull down HR 114.... last one is the balance beam, this one is only for the flats again. My target HR was 164... not once did I get above 122.... YAY!!!!!
Now my legs hurt... lol Had to use proper lifting techniques between it all I really must have done 40 squats total? well it feels like it... lol
So this 300+ guy is in!
Spent the afternoon going through the general things that one would normally find as common sense, but you'd be surprised.
There are only 3 guys in the class. Me from PA 1 guy is a Michigan man, but moved locally this past week. The third guy is from SC drove 18 hours to get here. I though I drove a long way... lol Seems like both are good people. This should be a good time. SC guy already told me he brought up his grill. Steaks on Sunday! woot woot!
SO means some good driving. We were also told that we would be testing out 2 days earlier since the holiday is at the end of our time. We will test on Wed. and then be able to cut out on Thursday if we like.
Now to read and then rest!kickin chicken, Zangief, PCDoctor and 1 other person Thank this. -
Sounds like fun!
I'm glad the step test is out, that was the only one I was worried about being able to do and not going over. Every thing else is cake, and I'm in the same boat as you with being 300+.
Cool, that the guy brought the grill with, that was a good idea.
Anyways, I'll see ya there. -
HUMMM.... I guess I should feel proud that I passed the step test with Schneider.
-
sure?
but not really understanding why you said that?
i think they cut it because it was more of an endurance thing rather than a physical capability test. -
I really don't see the reason for the step test either. I said that because I thought it was just me having issues with that test but I see others worry about it too, so I do feel proud about passing it. I had an issue with my heart rate and had gone to the doctor for medicine plus I lost a lot of weight and worked out like a dog at the gym to get into condition. Also Schneider let me do a dry run to see if I could do the tests last week. When I passed then they let me to into orientation without having to wait 6 months to reapply. So I am very happy.

Nice! I'm happy for you too then... Enjoy your pumpkin... lol
