Lightning strike destroys King of Kings statue

I remember watching them build that. Ddidn't know it was styrofoam.

 

Saw it many times going up and down I-75. It was pretty cool. I'm sure they will rebuild it.

 

Saw that blurb on the Internet... an "Act of God?" Or just some cosmic ill humor?

 

Well; makes you wonder. I have never been comfortable with statues at all. There are several verses that say not to make graven images of anything in heaven. I realize in biblical times there was a lot of idol worship to false gods, but in the back of my mind I wonder if the statues today can be considered an idol or an item of worship. Crosses I don't have a problem with. I think it is a good reminder of the cost that was paid.

 

IM thinking God is giving us all a sign here and nobody is listening.

I always thought it wasn't a very attractive statute. It just seemed odd. If that makes any sense.

 

I wonder if comedian Heywood Banks will write another song about this statue now.

Personally, as a man with Christian beliefs, I have always had an uneasy feeling about this statue. I don't think Jesus himself would be too happy with it either.

Hmmm....maybe that's why lightning struck it....

 

Your right! I didn't like it cause personally I think the money spent on the statue could have been used a better and more helpful way.
