Drivers I have found a radio called

    http://www.walcottcb.com/stryker-sr440hp-10-meter-radio-p-1212.html

Has anybody ever delt with this ??? And does it have a Ham radio ban with it also ???

I'm getting SO TIRED of hollering at someone on the CB and the never get an answer. Also when u give a bear report or something u never get a thankyou in return. What happened to the good ol days ???
thats why i wondered if this Stryker radio had a HAM band with it. might as well get my ham license. No one else to talk to anymore :biggrin_25513::biggrin_25513::biggrin_25513:

It does cover 10 meters HOWEVER it is USELESS for a tech class ham to use and almost useless on 10 meters. SSB is the main mode on 10 meters not that there is not lots of FM there is but don't spent money on a radio like that what ever you buy has to have SSB.

Not to be rude at all, but ANY CB Look-alike radio with "bands" and "channels" are illegal for 11 Meters. It is a ruse used (not successfully) to get around the rules regarding CB WRT number of "channels" and power.

If one insists on a "BIG" radio, a regular 40 channel LEGAL CB radio + a small amp would serve you better--even tho THAT, too, is illegal. The problems caused to and with CB radio is caused---------by CBers themselves. The amplifiers, "peaked & 'tuned'", clipped & snipped radios, noises and lack of knowledge cause most of the trouble. Think about it::biggrin_2559:Turn loose a whole passel of untrained, undisciplined people with a radio and ya gets exactly what is to be expected. Noise, hash and trash, unscrupulous dealers snippin' & clippin' ILLEGAL radios, people who have NO idea what they are doing---and don't CARE! Just so "I'm the loudest, proudest, biggest, baddest 'reddio' station around. It's these losers' ONLY claim to fame: a radio he's PAID somebody else to BOTCH UP; he's got nothing else going for him except to screw up everybody else. Because of the chaos that exists on CB, the guy that got stepped on goes out and buys a bigger illegal radio, or amp, and steps on others. AND feels GOOD about it!:biggrin_2559: Then THAT guy goes out and buys HIMSELF a "BIG" radio, too--and steps on somebody else. THAT 3rd guy then buys a "bigger" radio, too! MO' POWER! MO' REDDIO!!!! MO' 'CHANNELS'! MO', MO', MO', MO'----See where this is going?

When/if you buy the Stryker, it will have the 10 Meter band IN it. Go up and listen sometime when the "skip" is running. Listen to the difference between CB and amateur radio. Night & Day. It will be hard because they are on SSB, but you might be able to decode what they are saying! Listening is fine! Just don't be tempted to talk to those hams! It requires a license, AND the hams will seek you out to turn you in to the Feds! It's happened plenty of times before. Stay OFF those seemingly "quiet" channels because they ARE being used for slow scan TV, teletype and such---digital modes you won't be able to decode.

I have my ticket and are well aware the rules.....and when that ticket comes up for renewal it will drop because of all the holier than thou a-holes I have encountered on 10m.......73 GP
