I'm dumping AT@T and am looking at Sprint or Verizon. Sprint will be about $20 a month cheaper but Verizon has awesome customer service. How does Sprints coverage compare to Verizon?

Never used Verizon but I can tell you first hand that Sprints coverage sucks....I run upstate NY back and forth to Texas and the deep south every week and the only thing worse than Sprint was Nextel as far as coverage goes...Just paid Sprint their buyout and went back to AT&T..

Sprint covereage and customer NOservice sucks.
Verizon just works. No roaming or issues and it's great for trucking since any call to/from any other Verizon customer is always free. My 2 best friends have Verizon and we can yack all day/night if we want and never pay a dime.
Thats what sold me on Verizon. And, the customer service has been great. The only thing about Verizon that can be dicey is they can nickel/dime you on 'extras' each month..txting and stuff like that. The "Everything" program they offer does not include any data or texting (IIRC) - just pure voice use.
BTW, see if your employer offers any discounts with Verizon. My full time job employer has a 22% discount under Verizon on monthly plans (not unlimited plans though) - so it helps, until you tack on all those dam fees/taxes which typically add up to 18-22% of the dam bill.
My favorite charge on Sprint was a "real estate investment fee" - that was to help them pay the lease on cell site land.
I was like WTF...Big Don Thanks this. -
I've been a happy Tmobile customer for about 8years or so. No complaints!
I've been considering switching to Boost though because it would cut my bill in half for unlimited phone/text/internet($50). I've recieved good feedback from users as well.Ducks Thanks this. -
I had ATT for 2 years while i was driving with an iphone... I dumped it as fast as i could!!!!!! I switched to sprint and got me evo 4g. Calls are clear, never dropped calls, fast internet... If i was you i would switch to sprint!

I was with At&T for years, but always had troubles in the boonies, and several dropped calls per day. Switched to Verizon and haven't had to use the customer service that everybody says is so good!

Definately go with verizon, I had Sprint and every other call was dropped or it seemed so, if the call went through at all. This was about 2 years ago though so maybe it changed. I've been with Verizon for a while now and not too many complaints.

I have been with Verizon since 2001. I had really good luck with their (expensive) service, both phone and computer, when I was OTR. Very few areas it didn't work in, and I would be surprised if they have not closed a bunch of those gaps since then.
My only complaint with them is the cost. I dropped the computer service when I came off the road, and that saved some money. But right now I am on a 700 minute nation wide coverage, with one shared line plan. It is more than enough for my wife and I.
But our bill is in the neighborhood of $86.00 (+/-) a month. As was mentioned, their little add ons are what eats up the money. -
I am a huge fan of Sprint. If the coverage works for you then the price cannot be beat. Verizon has superior coverage and customer service but is very expensive. There are other alternatives. Page Plus Cellular is a reseller of Verizon service. They have an Unlimited Text and Talk plan using Verizon's network for $44.95 per month.
