I'm a new driver, have never held a trucking job.
I applied at Crete online, today I received their reply, it states, "Thank you for your interest with Crete Carrier Corp. / Shaffer Trucking. After review of your file, we regret to inform yo that we are unable to offer you employment with us at this time."
They then go on that this info may have come from my DAC report or NICT.
If I never held a driving job how could I have a negitive DAC report?
Your help is welcome.
Thanks
Frank

Don't feel bad. They are selective and you need experience with them.
I applied to them 5 yrs or so ago. I had two months of unemployment and they wanted a notorized statement from my neighbor stating so. I said screw it

Sounds like a form letter to me...a blanket rejection that covers anyone they want to reject. The fact that the rejection "may have" been due to DAC or NICT doesn't mean it had anything to do with either...just that it might have. If you've never had a driving job, you don't have a DAC. Not sure what the NICT is.

I think the NICT is the National Investigative Crime System, or words to that effect. It's an agency that is used to see if there is any sort of criminal background. I had access to that system while being a Class III weapons dealer. We simply referred to it as NICs though.

Could be wrong though, I never saw it as NICT, just NICS, but it sounds like it may be the same system.ironhand Thanks this. -
I agree with one of the above posts it does sound like a form letter, don't sweat it there are plenty of companies out there for you to choose from.....

Here is my view on rejection: And that is to take rejection from companies very casually and realize that there are a zillion other companies out there.
When i first applied to overnite (now UPS freight) i told the guy that i could take rejection and would like an answer. The very next day i got a call and was hired!
i wish i could feel the same way towards women, but i haven't made it to that level yet.
Chin up, cowboy.

Yep, just a form letter. Keep trying and don't sweat it. You don't have any experience and there are many companies out there who require 1, 2, 3, even 5 years OTR experience. There are other companies who prefer to train their own. Also, right now you have to figure there are probably 50 drivers applying for every opening. It's a matter of the company deciding what's a better fit for them. And you may have to start with a company you have heard lots of negative stuff about...and then get into the company and find it's not really so bad after all. Or, you may find they really are that bad, but then stick it out for a year or so and find something that will fit you better. After you have 3 years accident and violation free, you will pretty much be able to write your own ticket.
Good luck!
