Well my little stove that runs off of coleman fuel or gasoline is coming with me. I'll use those plastic red containers and empty the coleman fuel out and pour in gasoline. Next thing you know they'll make drugs with gasoline.
I hope a quart of gas somewhere on the truck won't bother the cops.
That little single burner stove works wonders. A qt of gas lasts two weeks. Things get hot quickly in it. Back when I made my own bullets it was strong enough to melt lead in a small pot.

Several years ago my little brother had a grill kinda like this and swor by it. I never used it but according to himit did a good job. -
I thought I would see a better reply here
I ate out of my truck better than i could in any restaurant
I had a frig lick students get the frez. section stayed cold enough to keep ice cream
I had a stove, Microwave and a slow cooker
my wife and I ate great for less than the price of a hamburger
if you climbed into my truck you would think you were in your Grand Mothers kitchen
We had roast, ribs, chicken. . . the only thing we did not have was baked bread
As flatbed we were in the truck 2 or 3 months at a time
We also had fishing gear, 42 inch flat screen TV with 300 watt surround sound system, dish TV and an atari game system
With a little planning, your cab can be better than a hotel room
We also had a Gas Generator, and a window a/c unit. . .
I could park the truck in needles during the summer, crank up the generator around 1 pm and have cold air on the windshield within an hr
i could not run the AC with the microwave but with the microwave off I could run everything elsefor 10 hours on 2.5 gallons of Gas
we ran into a few nasty drivers, but most of them were a class act -

But, see, the hands asking the questions are mostly newb's, in company trucks.
Not only can they not afford the luxuries you describe, they aren't allowed to have many of them.
So, we are all just offering inexpensive, ALLOWABLE ways, for them to eat better on the truck.

Not the geen bottles, geez. The guy was referring to the red and silver can of coleman fuel. You know, the kind you start a fire with and burn your eyebrows.
You don't know the cops in my town. That's all you read about is they found components of a meth lab cause someone had one of those cans in his trunk.Injun Thanks this. -
My company doesn't allow any inverter over 400 watts, as it could void the mfg warranty. Not much you can use a 400 for except small things like charging a lap top or small tv.
Ok so I bought a Coleman Powerpack 1 burner stove. Got it from Amazon for about $35. I also had in my back pack a MSR cookset, which I got for about $60. this I think is the way to go. The MSR is non stick and you cannot believe how fast the Coleman will boil a cup of water...faster than our microwave at home.
So now I've been out for two weeks and have only eaten from the truck, with the exception of three occasions where I was just too doggoned tired to cook.
With this heat, soups and chili works well. Those "Noodle cup of soups" work really well after a day of driving.
Last week I cubed a can of spam, a large red potato, 1/2 onion and a can of green beans....sauteed in some olive oil. Worked out real well. I kept the windows half down and it didnt take too long for this meal to finish up.
I have a 40qt Coleman powered cooler. Works alright...I have to unplug it every couple of days as the cooler unit tends to frost up.
All in all, cooking out of the truck IS the way to go. Just make sure that you stock what you like and cook what is going to be convenient. Also, make sure that you do treat yourself to an outside meal on occasion....after all you've earned it for sure.simplyred1962, Scrumdog, Baack and 1 other person Thank this. -
I havent read alll the posts so hopefully I'm not repeeating someone else. But they have these cookers that look like little black lunchboxes that you can buy at the truckstops. The plug in. You can also buy a plug in cooler (the big kind) and go shopping at a Walmart just like as if you were home and buy some neat stuff to cook in it. I used to buy these pancake corn dogs on a stick with sausages on them for easy breakfasts and those little tacos are good too.

I don't do drugs so nothing to worry about other than the hassle of them looking over the truck.
btw did some research on the internet and yes two liter soda bottles are used to make drugs. They make them in a plastic bags now. Saw a video of guys taking Kitty Litter (fresh step) vitimin C, salts and matches. Some weird stuff going on out there. I never did drugs except for beer and asprin.
When I was a kid I was really sick and they gave me this antibiotic crap that years later they found out that it turned my teeth gray. You never know what a drug will do to you. Could take years to see the side effects. Personally, I'm to afraid of what it will do to the brain and I've seen to many lives meesed up b/c of drugs.
Now back to cooking.......food that is.simplyred1962 and Baack Thank this. -
thankies .. muchas gracias... I need to figure out how to make my coffee
-
I got use to Folgers instant coffee. I heat the water in the microwave in a styrofoam cup, add some sugar free Vanilla creamer and I'm good to go.
Maybe someone can enlighten us on a coffee maker. I tried one one time and the 800 watt inverter couldn't handle it. I have 2500 watts now but never tried it. Seems like a coffeepot would be an accident waiting to happen. Ideas?
