I noticed above the passenger visor on my KW W900L there is a cut-out, that could be cut out. The drivers side has that, and my Alpine Radio is installed there.

How hard is it to cut this plastic and install a CB (Cobra 25LTD for example) into that spot? - The alpine radio had a nice sleeve that mounts into the plastic and then the radio slides into the sleeve.

Not so with the CB it seems.....?

Shouldn't be to hard, if your not comfy doing it I'm sure a good car stereo shop could do it pretty easy...The lone studio W9 I drove for a while had a Cobra installed in that location but I don't remember which Cobra might have been a 29 ?? so it can be done !!

Cool. Nah, I used to install radio equipment back in the 80s, so I have the skill and not afraid! - But not sure of brackets and what not...so I need to do some investigation I guess...

I almost dare say that radio was installed at the factory when the truck was built.....maybe a KW dealer could help out with the brackets and such ??

I bought a 29LTD Blue Tooth unit today. It looks like I cut out the 'cut out' in the top of the visor (opposite the radio install area) and I can secure the CB into it.

What do we do with the microphone, if I dont want a bunji cord?? - Where to mount or secure it?
I was thinking on the black area (2 screws) that actually really holds the entire top visor in place.
Its right forward of the dual map lights.

    Any thoughts?

all right. it's done. What a pain in the ####. Now I know why I quit that sorta work back in the 80s....Many modifications inside the visor. Perhaps a smaller CB would have been more ideal, vs a 29LTD
