What gets me is these lowrider/hoop rides that are slammed down to ground level and you can't see them for crap.

Keep in mind I drive an older Pete 379 wrecker or an International 4900 w/ a 26 ft Chevron bed- the International sits up so high it has blind spots when the jelly bean cars are near you even when empty.

I can see why they put the fender mirrors on, to avoid lawsuits and so you can drive for everyone else on the road.

On certain trucks, that little window in the passenger door will give you a good view of wommerns in the cars you pass.

I also happen to like fender mirrors, and prefer one on each fender. I can keep my head and eyes pointed ahead of me while checking for things in the blind spots.

Aint that the truth!!!! I've often thought that most things I've ever operated were designed that way.

Before driving, I spent 29 years in a power plant as an operator. The injunears that designed it, never intended anything to be operated manually, let alone worked on. You had all the room in the world, and you'd find valves, electrical breakers, etc., in the most ungodly places. Sometimes 30' in the air, all jammed together. I wish some sort of law could be passed that would require an injunear to actually have some sort of practical knowledge as well. To be fair, I have known a handful that had a great deal of real world knowledge. And some sticks I've known had more sense that some of them.:biggrin_2559:

Then you have the types that as soon as you're beside them, their foot comes off the gas, and they start riding the wakeup bumps. Then you're wondering where the crap they went when you're checking the mirrors.:biggrin_25523:

If I'm not on a call I'll sometimes sit and watch traffic. Based on what I see around here, 85% of the population should not have a DL!

i have said it before & i will say it again if you had to have common sense to get a driver's license there would be a whole lot of people walking.
