This happened today and this is the letter I sent to Wal Mart.
To: Wal Mart, Business Relations
Sirs,
First Id like to say that I am a Wal Mart shopper as is my wife and family.
I am a truck driver and frankly feel discriminated against. After hearing and reading stories of my brother truckers having their trucks towed while they went into a Wal Mart to shop, and Wal Marts seemingly indifference to their situation I was taken back.
Today confirmed that your company does not want to do business with Truck Drivers across America.
I was parked at a truck stop off I-70 and exit 28 near Kansas City. I have been on the road for over two weeks and needed to re-supply my food. I Google Wal Mart and there is a Super Store about ½ miles from the Travel America where I am staying. So I decide to walk the ½ mile and do some shopping.
What do I see when I approach the entrance? A HUGE steel I-beamed gate, which was designed SPECIFICALLY to keep trucks out.
Why?
Are we so offensive to your company that you cannot stand the thought of having a Truck Driver come to your store and buy products?
I have posted a photo of this gate on my blog site, and will share it with other Truck Drivers which I think number in the hundreds of thousands.
We arent asking for places to spend the night, just stop playing games so that we can in good conscience shop at Wal Mart nationwide.
You can see the photo of the gate at: http://guncraft.blogspot.com
Sincerely,
Jmurman (real name sent to Wal Mart)

Come on, get real.
There are legit reasons for their actions.
Stop spending money at their stores !!!! -
Let us know what kind of response you get.
-
Yeah...if any response at all. I'd imagine some standard "we understand your concerns" form letter. I worked for them for 6 years. Worst 6 years of my life. LOL
jtrnr1951 Thanks this. -
The one in Lamar MO, quite a bit south of that one, is Trucker Friendly. We stop there all the time. Hubby sometimes takes his 10 there. And they have a pretty decent little "deli" place to eat in there. I'd plan my stops there from now on if your coming up I29.
-
I imagine that I'll get some canned letter.
Too bad too, they are at this store basically saying we dont want your business.
-
There's one in Neosho Mo that is also very trucker friendly. I stay there and spend money there. However when I see a large I-Beam bar that will take the top off of anything over 12'6" then I get chaffed.
There seems to be three standards for Wal Mart:
1. Truckers keep out, we don't want you here
2. Trucker friendly
3. Wal Mart wants everyone to shop there
Quite a spread and a big difference. -
Yeah, we've stopped at Neosho too. But like Lamar better for some reason. LOL But yeah, we've pulled into some that have the bar as well, we just use the side entrance. No one has ever came out and told us to move.
I see the Bars at LOTS of target stores though. You can forget getting in there. -
Mallwart has made it perfectly clear to me they don't want my money judging by the way I've been treated. Especially with live loads at their wonderful DC's. Real lovely people.
-
Just like on I 10 in Louisiana, at about the 60 MM (Jennings, LA) there is a Wal Mart
right off the interstate that has those bars above the entrances to keep out trucks.
But right down the highway at about the 82 MM (Crowley, LA) is another Wal Mart
that allow truckers to park and shop. Guess which one gets my money.
Even in my personal vehicle I will not shop at a Wally World that is not trucker
friendly.
