Problem with that is any movie that's still in the theaters the only copies you'll find on the pirate sites are ones taken with a lousy cam corder, with over half of them the audio is out of sync, and people walking around in front of the camera. You're not going to find a quality pirated movie until after the DVD comes out. Theaters are still the best location, and the only location if you want to watch it with the new 3d technology.

There is a guy in my neighborhood that gets his direct from the theater's digital projection equipment. He works there and simply taps the HDMI output on the projector and records to a laptop. Perfect quality.

Does this mean you people don't care about copyrighted music, videos, and photos? It should all be free for anyone to use with out paying?
Mark -
its the only way some of us can get to even see half these movies. besides who in their right mind is going to spend $40 for 2 people to go to the movies.
$11 tickets
$4 Drink
$5 popcorn
------------
$20 dollars per person
Hints why i don't even both to wait my time watching movies anymore as I only get 5 gigs a month to play my video games and watch hulu. that pretty much kills my 5 gigs right there. Wish I could download or stream movies offline. but I am to limited

I think the market is bigger on music then movies right now as far piracy is concerned.
And yes that means if you rip music off a CD and make a copy for a friend or make a bootleg recording at a concert.
IMO- there's no feasible way they can control the piracy on the internet, there's alot of stuff floating around besides torrents, limewire, soulseek etc....
You copy songs from your hard drive onto your Ipod- uh oh you just committed x amount acts of piracy! -
They should become public domain after a few years as originally intended. Not protected forever at my - and YOUR - tax expense. The greedmongers didn't play fair with us...why should we play ball with them?
Short and simple explanation. Copyright is a protection given to works to allow return on investment, and profit. This protection is - WAS - given with the original intention of the work entering the public domain after a certain time frame, thus allowing the public to enjoy said work because, well...the protection was PAID for by the public.
With the changes in copyright - in particular the 1998 extension law - the public forever pays for the protection, and receives no benefit.
How fair is that? -

Not so. The music industry has pretty much surrendered that battle. CD sales are non existent these days. People buy single tracks off of sites like iTunes. The musicians now make their money via their live shows. Ten years ago you could pick up Pearl Jam tickets for less than $20 a piece. Now it costs a couple hundred. Heck I remember buying Van Halen tickets in 1984 for $7. Back then they played live shows to promote the recorded music, now they put out recorded music to promote the live concerts.
-
they also put out crappier music then complain when people only like 1-2 songs out of an entire album.
-
Certainly not the way of the 70's.
