It is by far the most interesting job that I have ever had....except for my time in the Navy.
I am intrigued by the plants and factories that I pick up in and it is neat to see who is using the product to make something else.
Usually the consignee is very happy to explain to you what it is that they make. When I am at home, I always look at the web site of my delivery on Monday. This trip they make weather resistant fences, animal traps, lobster traps ect. I am carrying a load of coiled rod.
The factory was built in the 1800's and completely modernized, so I am looking forward to seeing it.

    Kutina and MtDewMan Thank this.

Got four fresh batteries and I am ready to rock and roll. They looked like the original batteries....they got 330,000 miles out of them. I now have peace of mind at least as my batteries go!
Have a great week and My God Bless You All!

I have a complaint! Not against Maverick but against some of our drivers.
I am sick of going to pick up a preload and finding there is all kinds of problems with them that the last driver should have seen and reported them so they could be fixed while the load was at the location.
At Ghent, they have a guy that does that all the time, but if no one reports it, he can not fix it.
I got a trailer that has a major...and I mean major leak on the right side trailer air chamber. You can hear it all the way at the cab.
The tanks drain down in minutes as soon as the truck is shut down, So when I start it up, I can not move it because the spring breaks have set.
Be professional and call it in. Don't leave it for the next person to take care of.
Oh, the trailer would not crank either to lower the landing gear so I could back under it.

There was another driver there complaining about the same thing.
You know who you are.....Man Up!:biggrin_25510:

every trailer I pick up at Ghent, including the one I got yesterday, is an absolute pile of ****. I assume it's a given, and deal with it accordingly.

My point is that if we all report the problems and get them fixed when they happen, then we will all be the better off for it. I could not with a clear conscience leave a piece of junk for the next driver without at least calling it in when I dropped it off. It only takes a minute.
Now I am going to have to go to a TA and take time off from driving when it could have been dealt with before hand.
    Do unto Others!
