I am lookin for someone to invest $10K with my 10K match to purchase a truck and run team. You will also need another 3K for reserves and I will also put up 3K in reserves in case repairs are needed early on. We can lease on with someone, purchase the truck and run until we make enough money to purchase another truck. We will split the profits equally and my goal would be long term to start our own company with two trucks running at first and then purchase another and hire a driver. I have a B.S. in Finance and a J.D. so I can provide the know how but I need someone that understands the business and is also extremely responsible.
A little about me:
I am a professional male, clean, superior organizational skills, intelligent and hard working. I got screwed over by Arrow and returned to the legal field (my friend has his own lawfirm and my background is legal). I am not happy at all behind a desk and driving was always a dream of mine. I love being on the road. I have 1yr 3 mo experience pulling flatbed in all 48 states. Excellent mountain and snow driver. Love running coast to coast but if leased on we will be at the companies mercy for the most part. Will live in truck at first because I want to put money away to purchase another truck and I prefer staying out 6-8 weeks at a time so why have a home? I plan to take a week off every 6-8 and pick a place that we will enjoy being and rent a car and motel room. Anyway, enough about me. If you are interested give me a call at 913.884.3434. Thank you for your time.
Chuck

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Thanks for the reply. I really need someone to stay out an extended period of time to gather money to purchase another truck and expand the business. If your situation changes let me know.

Either get 1 truck or 7 trucks Chuck. Anything in between and you'll loose.

Gee! I wish you lived in Wisconsin! I got $10,000 + just sitting in my checking account!

10-4 will definitely do that and if u don't mind will ck in from time to time to see how things are going with u good luck -
No problem. I am still looking for someone that wants to invest in a truck. I didnt think that it would be difficult to find someone that wanted to be an o/o. Oh well, hopefully soon since ATS wants me to lease on with them.

My personal opinion....
Your going to have trouble finding someone to invest any kind of money into a risky industry with a person they do not know. I also agree with what Calve said.... Whats wrong with 1 truck with you as a driver? That would allow you to take the risk all on your own & learn about the industry.
And since you mentioned ATS...... Well........ Ummmmmmm...... I promised to behave since they let me out of my cage yesterday! So the best of luck! -
Regarding ATS, I see nothing negative posted on them on this site. Also, a few O/O's have sent me messages and they do not seem to have any problems with them. If you have negative comments regarding ATS please post them.

I have no first hand experience with ATS. Everything I have to say about them are just opinions from observations I've made on how they treated friends & family who were employed my them... That is why I won't post my negativity about them.
But I do have a few comments about your original post....
You like to stay out 6-8 weeks. Take a week off anywhere you choose. You like to run coast to coast... But you will be at the mercy of the company.
If you buy a truck... You are the company! You make the decisions! You call the shots! And if you allow someone other then you take charge, then you are doomed & most likely will fail! Being a truck owner, you should not allow yourself to be at he mercy of anything!
A company like ATS is in my eyes not recommended as an owner operator. If you feel you need to lease onto a carrier... Don't lease onto a carrier who has company trucks! I've noticed that those carriers who own their own fleet & lease on owner operators are only looking out for their own interests! If your sitting empty in a truck stop & a couple company trucks are there as well.... Who do you think will be getting the load? A company truck where the company makes more money or you, the owner operator? I believe you may only be given a load that won't make the carrier any money.... If they don't make money at it.... You ain't going to either!
If you are serious, I will strongly recommend ditching ATS & ever other carrier who own their own equipment!
There are many companies out here that do not own their own equipment... They only use Owner Operators. Landstar, Mercer, Admiral, Universal to name a few off the top of my head. You have control with those companies. You are in charge! You haul the freight you wanna haul! You go where you want to go! You run when you wanna. And you take your time off when & where you wanna!!!
