your load to norcross will be delivered by the yard guy. They have you drop them sometimes so someone needing a certain direction to get home. Gary is always full of loads by friday and empty monday night

Sitting in lower Kentucky tonight after a long day. Had to go to Cleveland to pick up an empty trailer and then roll back to the shipper to get loaded. Got in close to another 8 hours of driving after that though so sitting nice to be at Ellenwood tomorrow around 1400. Already preplanned for a return trip up to Nashua, NH that picks up from the yard, probably the same place I was at a week or so ago. Everything going pretty well. My dispatcher seems to be on the ball so no complaints in that department and I am staying pretty busy.

MAJESTYK, at this juncture would you recommend Roehl to a newbie? I graduated a couple of weeks ago from SAGE in Yadkinville, NC and have my choices narrowed down to 2 carriers: Roehl and Hardy Bros. The latter is team driving from Mt. Airy, NC to CA and bringing back produce. They're out 5-6 days so I get to see the family at least once a week. The mileage pay is low, but it's a small family op and I haven't found any negative reviews yet. In fact, I can't find any reviews on them here.

Roehl peaked my interest because of their safety rating and it sounds like their training program is pretty thorough. I know that going through SAGE only taught me enough to get my CDL and not train me for real world situations. I especially need someone who can work with me on downshifting. Heck, I'd be willing to pay an O/O in the area to spend some time with me so I don't look like a complete idiot.

    Thanks for your posts!

    Hey Majestyk,
Do you have a power inverter in your Truck? If so what are you running off it. I am in Marshfield today talking to the shop about it. I do not have an APU either.

Thanks guys. I have a 1000 watt cobra inverter in the truck but it isn't connected:) I have been using a 200 watt inverter to charge my phone and computer and probably could use it with my crock pot which is 190 watt but haven't tried it yet. I will probably hold off on getting my bigger one connected.

Macro I don't have much negative to say about my treatment thus far so yes I would recommend Roehl at this time. I do think that after hours/weekend dispatch could be better as several times things I have tried to communicate have gotten lost/forgotten etc.

My a/c started blowing hot air again today about the time I hit the GA border so I called in to have an appt set up to have it looked at in Ellenwood. Got there about 2 and they closed the shop at 4 without ever looking at it. So I had the option of sitting around all day and probably most of tomorrow or just hooking up to the New Hampshire load and rolling out without a/c. I reloaded on food at Walmart, grabbed a shower and rolled on out. My a/c started blowing cold air again after about an hour down the road so I don't know what the problem is. It did the same thing initially after they fixed it the first time so there is still something not right about it but for now it is working. Will probably relay this load off somewhere tomorrow as I can't get it there on time and it is supposedly a hot load (furniture). Got in a tad over 600 miles today with 10.75 hours of driving time, rolled into a sweet parking space with 5 minutes left on my 14:)

    PCDoctor Thanks this.

A pretty rough day today. Left Salisbury, NC early this morning and set up a relay point with another driver at Elkton, MD to finish out the load. The old a/c went to the crapper again around Virginia which made for a hell of a hot day, particularly when combined with moping along around the Washington DC beltway (have I mentioned that that is my least favorite road in the US:) Took me about 5 hours to make it all the way around and through Baltimore and finally to the truckstop at Elkton (ca. 150 miles). Also got pulled in for a DOT level 1 inspection just south of the beltway. I got the green light to bypass the scale/rest area but I needed to stop for a short break before hitting the traffic and unfortunately got signaled in to stop. The lady was pretty nice. Passed the inspection with no problems which was good but did eat up 45 minutes of my time and made sure that I hit the traffic dead in rush hour. Got a pickup tomorrow in PA going to Sturvesant, WI but I only have 9 hours left on my 70 so going to have to relay that one off to or do a reset and have the appt time pushed back a little. The a/c is working again now which is making things nicer. I don't know what could be happening to it to make it start blowing hot air but I sure hope to GAWD that they fix it correctly this time.

I hate doing resets. Been out since June 1st and haven't done one yet.

Well on my first reset as of now (69.75 hrs/7 days). Ran a total of 3549 miles this week. Don't know how many of those are paid miles as a few relays are thrown in the mix but nonetheless a pretty good week. Dropped in Mogadore and bobtailed up to Richmond, OH to sit out my time. The weather hasn't been too tough up north today and the a/c has functioned adequately thus far so hopefully they will get me a run through a terminal to get it fixed properly before heading back down south again.

What went wrong with the a/c in the first place?
    A/C froze up?
    Compressor problems?
    Fan stoping then starting?
    Just wondering
