Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Hey, I'm LDS as well. Nice to know there are some of us out here. I've been out driving for werner for a month and have done more sitting then driving. I'm looking into W/S now and love the info. Have any of you started driving for them yet. If so, how is it going. Are they what they said or you thought they would be. On a personal side, how are you balancing chuch and work, has it been hard. Love to hear back.

PL(I'm treydavid but I use TD) I have been in school for the past 6 weeks but I plain on heading out as soon as my last child is born,(wife is due 7/16) You need to look up CAGEtrucker he just completed the 10 orientation and is now on the road with W/S, He joined the church a year age in September, Ask him about the church time, Man wish you would have come thru here before you went to Werner.. I guess you can jump ship anytime unless you are tied to a training agreement, If that is the case man I'm sorry to hear it. Let's keep in touch. TD.

Congrats on the little one on the way. No i'm not tied to them and i haven't got a check for tuition reimburment yet. That's why i'm looking around right now. I haven't left werner yet either, I'm actually on a LOA and thought i would use this time to look around. Unfortunately i haven't posted enough to do pm's or i would try to contact him, but thanks for the info anyway. I'm heading to some of the truckstops around here to see if i can catch some of the drivers and talk with them. If your looking at any company this would be the best way to find out about them. Something i learned while i was out on the road. Talking with other Werner drivers, there aren't to many that are getting a lot of miles who aren't on an account. Keep me posted on how things go for you as well.

Congratulations TD. I am LDS as well. I'm still completing school. I have a start date of Aug. 2nd with W/S. I might see TD there.
PartyL, you might want to give it some serious though about jumping. I've read alot of good things about W/S. It looks like they'll keep you moving. I see there trucks all the time around the International Center in Salt Lake, and here and there on the highway (I-80, I-15). This is a good sign to me since I live in Fairview (80 Miles away from SLC) that means I might be able to see the wife and kids a little more often.
Take care PartyL and TD. -
Hey, Thanks Guys, I may just run into you out there, I look forward to getting going on this deal. Whatever you do and whereever you are, There you are. A friend of mine says that all the time. See ya. TD.

I had a pre-hire with May, but I don't like the idea of them taking money out of my check if I idle too much. I asked the recruiter what I am supposed to do if I am stuck in Arizona... *Silence*

Ya they don't like those questions. I hear alot of WS trucks have apu's.so that will help with that. As for me jumping, I'm actually looking to jump from Werner to WS. I'm just not getting hours (as i'm still a student) to make me want to stay. It's not just me either. I was stuck at a terminal in GA for a couple days, and talking with other students and drivers alike, noone was moving very much. In 2 weeks i drove 42 hrs. My trainer let me do most of the driving so i could get my hours. I really hated leaving his truck cuz he was a good teacher and all around good guy. But I can't put my future on the line just to stay with a nice trainer. I'm heading to the truck stops around the terminal in SLC to see if I can talk with some drivers and get their thoughts on the company. Anyway hope school goes well for you guy. Later -
Good luck, I am VERY happy I went with Watkins Shepard. All the miles I want and more if I could run them. Great first month with the company. PartyLep I would go by the Watkins Terminal in SLC and see what you think I am actually thinking about moving up there from AZ. Now we also have looked at Washington.

Thanks for the PM, Cagetrucker. I don't get this site. I can recieve PM's, can't even reply, but can send them to a few people, who i don't even know.
Anyway, I went by the SLC term last night. To see if I could find a driver to talk to and get a real feel for the company, instead of the everything is perfect one that the recruiters give you. I found one truck but it looked like the driver was in the sleeper. So the search goes on.
