If you are referring to me, I do not wish to debate nor converse with you on this matter.
I never said that a driver had to sign any thing. A company may require a waiver be signed in order to work for them. This is legal.
Would you please QUOTE IT? I fail to see what you are talking about. ThanksLast edited: Jun 29, 2010

It is not that uncommon. Several drivers talk about how the paperwork gets presented to the new hire and signed:
-
I was appealing to anyonein this particular instance please note the word someone and if I offended you I am sorry but this was not my intention on the other hand in this particular instanceit was directed at you only because you stated it was a standard form and practice by some companies, your words. Again if you felt I was personally attacking you please accept my apologies, this was not my intention.
I have NEVER seen such a form!
I will try to clarify my concern and train of thought.
The legality of a company requiring you to sign a waiver is not in question, from my perspective; they have every right to require this as a condition of employment. The point I was trying to convey is the waiver itself, the content within the waiver, could be invalidated by a court of law, depending on the circumstances of the case and EXACTLY what the waiver says. This is why I want to see it!!!!!
Again I AM sorry if I mislead you or did not convey my thoughts in a precise manner!
I just want to see the contents (wording) of this waiver.
I hope you now see what I am talking about.
Again, I say POST IT so perhaps I can learn something. On this statement I stand firm. Dont be offended by it! -
You would have to obtain a waiver from a trucking company in order to review it. They would be drawn by the individual trucking company's attorney, so they would differ for each.
Have you ever heard of a waiver for the rider program that some trucking companies offer? -
To be honest I have never heard of any trucker or talked to any that signed (or knew they did) any sort of waiver like that nor have I ever talked to anyone or heard from any that were charged financially for damage to any equipment ie: bent rims, air lines, mirrors etc...... I have only worked for only 4 companies and have not been asked to sign anything like that. It might be standard practice for some companies but I dont believe it is standard for the trucking industry
Truckers Advocate Thanks this. -
i had a guy so bad once i made him put up a bond if he wanted to keep working.... his mother brought me 1500.00 ..after he did 1500.00 more damage his 3 strikes were up... i didn;t have to worry bout him drawing unemployment off me....

kickin chicken Thanks this. -
every where i've been,,,,,u break it u buy it...

Your video signature is hilarious!

The more I read other posts it makes me wonder how many are being taken advantage of?
Does a Pilot have to pay for damage he done to a plane? NO
Does a factory worker have to pay for a machine he accidently broke? NO
Does a construction worker have to pay for a rafter he cut one inch short? NO
Does a bus driver have to pay for damage? NO
A company with company employees can only fire someone for wrong doing. If they want you to pay for the damage, they have to sue in the court of law.
The reason the industry is the way it is, is people are willing to say yes to everything for a job. Stand up for your rights.Last edited: Jun 29, 2010
