Yep Yep! Come to think about, I'll be trucking past it tomorrow! I normally roll south on the west side. Seems to me that there is less traffic over there

Hehe, and here I usually go down the east side to avoide the hills/turns around I270.

That scale is never open but it's a good place to get some rest between 10pm and 6am I think the sign says. There's a lot of parking all over the shoulders, big wide spaces like a rest area almost. And it connects to any direction of I 95 or I 495 when you come out of it.
Well, I made it. It was not fun at all. It was what reminds you of everything that is bad about trucking. Not the getting through DC, but the place I unloaded. That's a whole story in itself. There is a reason there are only box trucks in that picture. Anyway, don't have time to get into that now.
Thanks Landshark and everyone else for the help. If you ever need any help getting through Oklahoma just let me know. -
Hmmmm! Everytime I come through there, the lights are flashing saying to enter the scale. They must know I'm coming!
Yeah, going inside of the loop is never fun! When I was there just a week or 2 ago, I had to deliver in a residential area off Wisconsin Ave. I hit nearly every tree limb, made a few power lines move around, & my blood pressure tripled.
While unloading people were coming out of their homes to take pictures of my truck. One woman told me that they've never seen a big truck back there before! I simply looked at her & said "and you probably won't see another one again.... You definatly won't see this one!"
Closest truck stop was the TA in Jessup... I was so happy to be there when I arrived!!! And we know what kind of hole Jessup is! -
looks kinda like the brooklyn navy industrial park. I went to the beer warehouse in there, it was the big building to the left of the guard shack at the truck entrance. The dock was totally impossible to back a road truck into, and thankfully my consignee knew that. Told me to just drop my box in the middle of the street and let him hook the yard dog to it to put it in..LOL.
Oh yeah, i looked it up on google maps, and that is apparently a 20ish story building i delivered to. And they had to take the beer to the upper floors....hahahahaha... -
Something that I'll have to go through on Monday..
delivery to Penn Ave NW, just west of 17th... Any advice? I will be coming down during the night, but it seems challenging anyway.. I'm thinking of taking I95 to US 50 and then follow my instincts..
-
just shakin my head.............feelin sorry for you driver..........it sucks, and nobody friggin cares, you'll get through it..........hopefully w/out a incident that they will slam you on also................it's time to stand up and say hell no
-
not exactly sure where 17th street is but I know that MD 4 which is Penna ave is exit 12 off of the I 95... maybe search it up and see if its inside or outside of the loop...and go from there
-
You can bypass that scale by taking 212 to 650 and jumping on 495 west towards silver spring. Or 198 to 29... I know a few tricks due to our company having beet up trucks. Dot doesnt like us threw there. Also going south from b-more the inner loop east 495 is the way to go. Was down there alot when they were building the woodrow wilson bridge and all that contruction. Pain in the ### sitting in traffic 4 hours then dropping off 15,000 pounds of furniture with only one other guy. Getting home at 12, 1, 2, 3, in the morning every day will enstill enough anger in you to perminently hate northern va and d.c. for a lifetime! -
That is way inside the loop. White House is 1600 Penna

I would be calling receiver and maybe Metro PD down in that neighborhood
Kirr Thanks this.
