Roehl Flatbed

I am going through the recruiting process now and wanted to see if I should go VAN or FLAT? I have NO experience yet with either. I will be going through RDTC very soon, and I suppose I have to choose before classes start so I can do the right fitness/heart rate class.

Any suggestions for a newby?

 

If you are in good enough shape I suggest trying flatbed. If you don't like it you can always switch back to van. The way the training program works now is you start on a van and get flat training later. That will give you an opportunity to see both trailers. Depending on where you live, sometimes it is better to be in a different division for freight reasons.

 

Well I have made my decision I am going with roehl i have been arguing back and forth with myself about where I was going to go and I have taken alot of comments on here with a grain of salt and I guess you have to just get out there bust your ### and form your own opinions so hope to meet some of you roehl flatbedders soon.

 

Roehl is doing alot of ads for a West Flatbed Regional. On their map it looks like a Southwest Regional. When I drove for TMC we hardly ever came out here, because of lack of freight. I'm in Tucson now and thinking of going back to driving(laid off from Telcom co). Would rather run out west to Texas. Any answers out there?

I just had my first chance at curtainside. Ran it for a couple of runs. Not bad. Think I would prefer roll-tite trailers. Two of the shippers I went to had minor problems with curtainsides. Would have prefered flatbed or roll-tites for ease of loading.
