I have heard CAT now has an inframe kit that has brought the cost of an inframe down to a more reasonable price. I'm considering several used trucks and have been leaning toward the Detroit because of the prices I have heard about on the CAT inframes. Any comments from those familiar with the kit and has the cost come down at all ???

Here is a one page list of all the kits currently available by model. I hear the savings over seperate parts varies from 10 to 40% less.

i have a friend getting his 2ws e model getting done right now and he got prices from a couple of places......1 place priced parts seperate and another priced with the cat kits and it was $1000 cheaper on the cat kit price the whole job with reman head and new crank damper, oil pump and oil cooler is costing $11,400 unless they have to do the counterbores which would be another $200 each (they may only have to do a couple or all or none) 3 year /300,000 mile waranty
