i agree that phones should be much more durable...considering that people use them for everything, you would think they would make them harder to break..but then people wouldnt have to buy a new one every 6 months

last week my phone quit working, it just wouldnt get a signal....indian tech support couldnt figure it out....my sister had an old phone so i just activated that.....its a touchscreen:biggrin_25510::biggrin_25510::biggrin_25510: i hate it but you cant beat free

The only touch screen I can ever envision myself liking is if it was one of those mega-expensive, wall-size, imaginary ones that are on TV shows, like Criminal Minds, and NCIS.

Hubby would NEVER see me, then, as I would be playing on the internet ALL of the time!!! LOL

Seriously, though, I do NOT like the touch-screens. Heck, I don't even like the touch-PAD on my laptop.....I bought an external mouse for it!!!

my work has scales on all there forklifts...the scale has a computer that has these awful buttons...they are not touch screen, but they are not raised like keyboard buttons are

you have to push them about 3 times to get them to work...theres about 20 buttons and u use it all day, such a pain in the #####

i always say that the idiot in a suit who designed it should be forced to use a computer with these buttons all day

    kinda like these

We have the same scales on our lifts at FedEx. I think they just get a little buggy after being used for so long, and probably not getting the proper care they should.

Why not do like all the ###holes at the truck stops do. Use your truck keys to screw the pads up so bad, they just quit working altogether.

The screens on iphones don't break easily. The same goes for the Nexus One, but they will be sold out forever here shortly. Google probably caved in from pressure from Apple over a lawsuit regarding the Nexus One, as well as the AMOLED screen being too expensive to manufacture. Nexus One is a good phone, but it's only been out for half a year before it won't even exist anymore. What a pity, but it looks like the Droid X and the new HTC 4G phone at Sprint seems like decent buys.

Freebird135, I LOVE YOUR SIGNATURE! I drive buses in Houston... Love the Smith System and think it is the most valuable lesson in driving I have ever received! I wondered if anyone out there on the big road used it. Now I have my answer. When I grow up and get to be a Trucker I want to drive down the road next to you!

Touch screens....*shudders* I HATE THOSE STUPID THINGS! I really just want to know what is wrong with a good 'ol fashioned button. I hate how quickly touch screens go bad if not properly cared for, and let me tell you, most aren't. People just treat these sensitive screens like real buttons and pretty soon the sensors wear out. Also it is annoying trying to use those keyboards. You go to press a button but you can no longer see which button you are pressing and cannot FEEL which button you are on. You (at least I do) spend the next ten minutes trying to spell the word dog. Really what is up with it. How long until we have touch screen car controls. All the gauges on a wireless screen that I tilt to steer and press buttons on to honk, roll down windows, turn on A/C, ect. Just annoying.

On another note, I am not sure this is the best first post. Just could not let it slide. Sorry.
