Woo Hoo -
Passed my CDL test on Friday. Man KY Troopers are very strict and make sure walk a very thin line. Which is good I guess.
Should complete my training by the 15th. My last review from my trainer said - All I needed was my CDL and he's ready to cut me loose.
Here's a pic of a blind side alley dock I did at Sam Adams in Cinn OH.

Congratulations on getting your cdl Baritone. That blind side alley dock looks like fun...LOL!
-
Impressive!
-
I have been to that dock. I never liked it..lol
Good going on the CDL..
-
Thanks!
Lets just say I was sweating like a ##### in church when I hit the dock. My trainer was laughing at me. Would have been more like a normal off-set back but a grain truck was sitting right in the way so I had that to deal with also. -
There is always something in the way there...lol And most times it is a grain truck...

Congrats on getting your CDL! I hope you have relatively smooth sailing in the industry. We all have to get some horror stories under our belt eventually though. I just hope yours are like mine - stories that you can laugh at later.

I sure hope you're right. I truly try each day to ensure I am doing the right things and have made many laminated notes that wll go in my truck once I get it. Notes that I will see for example......what steps to take when backing to a dock, what steps to take when connected and unhooking a trailer. More of a check list to ensure I am checking and re-checking everything I do. So if something does happen - it wont be due to my error.
It's minor but the last dock I bumped before going on home time, I backed to it, moved my tandems as required by the receiver, and backed on it perfectly. My trainer looks at me and says....when it was only a matter of time before you did it. I was like "what did I do" I didnt hit anything or run over anything.....he looks at me and says....how they going to get all that beer off the truck if the doors are still closed.
See how easy it is to forget the little things....hence the laminated notes! LOLtwinrose, ozzspeed and Skydivedavec Thank this. -
Your pay will depend on if you go with Per Diem or straight pay and which milage option you pick. Check out the Millis web site - they are all listed there and you can see what they offer.
As far a my truck - I am sure I will get one of the older T600's or a T2000. I dont really care - as long as it's in good running condition is what's important to me. I have to pay my dues and prove myself before I'll ever get a new(newer) truck.Skydivedavec and Hitman Thank this.
