Hell i have had the qualcomm tell me to go under an 11'3" bridge. TND told me the route I SHOULD HAVE took. Once i got to the con. They told me the route i should have taken and guess what? It matched what my TND500 said. But that time I wanted to fallow the Qualcomm directions for sh!ts and giggles. What everyone must remember a GPS is a TOOL. You have to be smarter then the machine. Use the tool don't be a tool

Mark,
Are we any closer to getting the map update yet?
How far behind do the construction updates lag and what is the criteria for which construction events will be avaible in the updates? Reason I'm asking this one is that it missed construction in the Bridgeton, Nj area but, that town is sort of off the beated path.\

HEy Guys, Just a heads up for those who were asking:
There were about 7 updates as of 6:45am EST this morning. I do not know what they were, but they were updates just the same.
Just so that you know. -
Does the 700 give height and width restriction information?
-
I think every 2 weeks on construction, but I have to double check.
Thanks,

You will find that ALL the "big rig gps systems" will provide height & weight restrictions. They will provide width restrictions also ... including the Rand Mcnally TND 700, PC*Miler Nav's (430, 440R, 450, 540 & 740) , the Cobra GPSM 7700 and the Garmin 465t.
And of course, HAZMAT routing is available too. -
I think I may have mis-communicated myself. I was asking about the criteria RM uses ( if any) to decide which construction events go into the updates.
The sooner the better on the map updates- we have a little competition happening here on my dash and it's a pretty much a dead heat at the moment.
Thanks
