There is plenty of DRM free or Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial license music available on the internet.

You obviously don't know what you are talking about.
Small Claims Court has full authority to enforce civil judgments and hold scofflaws in Contempt for refusing to pay an award. And they have full authority to order the Sheriff's Department to enter your premises, place of business, employment or bank accounts to seize the money (or property) to satisfy the award.

What is wrong with that law? If you have illegal stuff it should be taken from you. If it's illegal stuff it's not your private files.

Don't see how it breaks the 1st amendment..................

ROTFLMAO. Ok...so you think it's ok to search people's private property without a warrant, just to see if MAYBE they have illegal property. Am I getting that right?

And it's OK to charge people because they might be THINKING about committing a crime. Check? Even if they haven't committed one? Just wanna be clear on this.
(They are going to do this based on your keyword searches. Better watch what words you use! No 1st amendment violations HERE, no sir!)

And to hit closer to home, say you've got a load going to Canada. The customs officials pull you around back, but they don't give a hoot about your load. Please Mr. Truck Driver, we'd like your laptop, your cell phone, and your IPod. We're going to search them for intellectual property violations. Thank you! :)

    That OK too?

I just caught a blurb on the news. Didn't catch which city but apparently some city in the US has outlawed soda. So better turn yours in, just in case.

You know they've also been pushing very hard to outlaw posting anywhere on the internet without revealing your full name, right? Refer to the stupid laws thread for more stupidity.

Not in your house, but at an airport, border crossing and other such areas, yes. It is because of people like you this must be done

No, you can think and write your opinions all you want. You can work to change any law you want. But, until the actions are legal you have to follow the rules and laws.

I again don't see a problem with this, part of border security is enforcing federal law. I see nothing wrong with enforcing intellectual property laws, it's the same as transporting drugs.

I have no problems that you disagree with me on this law, it's a free country. But, until the law is changed, it needs to be followed.
